"I think if more people from the diaspora would contribute donations specifically for the Serbian people in Kosovo"

and if anyone thinks that such donations would actually reach anyone in Kosovo then such a person would be truly clueless about Serbia.

For crying out loud, even a Serbian bishops and clergy have their fingers in this cash register.

and that is the problem, you are in the diaspora. You dont live in Serbia where life is a struggle. You are probably typing it from the comfort of your condo home on Toronto, London or Chicago. I get to share my apartment with my parents who barely make ends meet on the state pension and my brother. Elections will happen in January. The people will decide not the diaspora living thousands of miles away

The problem is your lack of knowledge about diaspora and our plight to help our next of kin and our country of birth or origin. If I can remember just recently reading on this site that diaspora contributes 1 billion US dollars annually to Serbian economy. That is 1 billion “with B” I would say that is a huge contribution to our people and country that we love just as much as people living there. Plus we are Serbia’s voice and ambassadors to our new countries. We are educated, law abiding and hard working citizens in our new countries. And proud Serbs. We carry on our traditions, religion and teach our children to be respectful, tolerant and good and proud Serbs.
I personally don’t appreciate your comment.

And yes, I’m from Chicago.

"I think my wife does not get food stamps anymore, that was canceled by the new government. "

I don't think teachers ever got food stamps in Hungary. If they would get some than most of the population would be entitled to get it.

The conditions in some E.U. countries are like that if we visit friends, they do welcome if we bring them food (meat) so they can afford to cook for us. The salary of a teacher is currently under 300 Euro before the tax, it used to be 300 but now less. I think my wife does not get food stamps anymore, that was canceled by the new government. Going 200 kilometer by rail costs 1/30 of the gross monthly income.

This is E.U. - which as we know - has no alternative.

I think if more people from the diaspora would contribute donations specifically for the Serbian people in Kosovo, it would greatly help them get through many tough times now and in the future.

- its precisely because of the inept D Yes to all that EU demand that current conditions are as they are. I hope all in Serbia realise that "EU has no alternative" is a false promise that has bought nothing but further misery. Even if diaspora still live outside of Serbia remember that their relatives suffer just like you and yours and its their passion and pride that they want things to be different for Serbia as a whole. Many that were born outwith Serbia are returning these past few years and might not be in those places you mention.

tadic and serbian government are a disgrace. diaspora calls for new elections. Serbia needs a government that respects Serbia's Sovereignty.
