"NATO opposes unilateral moves"

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated in Priština Thursday that NATO "opposed unilateral moves".

Actually this is an old strategy where you stir trouble and then come to the table offering to negotiate. Much like the old cavalry coming to the rescue in a western movie.

There is no intension of starting a conflict that could get out of control and NATO unable to win. This is not 1999 but 2011 and the situation is very different. Look at Afghanistan look at Iraq. I would not take any comfort over Libya as the old Colonel has already taken his revenge by leaving large caches of arms in the hands of Islamists – thee people hate the US. Give it a couple of months and you will see a very different government.

The US is using this tactic in Kosovo to try and break the deadlock or in other words try and get Serbia to give up something. I know how these people work and think and this is the only option for them, but when the tough gets going then its back to barracks until another try on.
