Are you kidding me? Stupid remarks from some people here. People from all over the world were in Lybia as workers. Now, you call them mercenaries. This is not Bosnia and Kosovo where al qaeda from middle east was called in as "little helpers" in cutting off heads.

These foolish comments show the idiocy and corruption of forums like these...How many people from the Former yugolsalvia work in Libya?? Does anyone have an exact count?? I know of one, my uncle, who's a civil engineer. i'm sure there are many..Are they mercenaries?? very doubtful. Just because it's in print in Sarajevo doesn't mean it legitimate...People wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mercenaries went there paid by Ghadaffi to kill innocent people. As we were clearly know, Ghadaffi and people loyal to him were killing innocent people anywhere, anyhow they could.
Mercenaries do not fight for an ideal or for freedom. Mercenaries do not kill to protect themselves, they kill for money so therefore they got what they deserved.
Im sure these mercenaries killed many innocent people in Lybia and other places also, so they deserve to be killed without trial.
Where was the biggest number of mercenaries from? Serbia... This tells something...
Im sure if war was to happen in Montenegro these mercenaries would be killing montenegrins too.

They should be read the riot act and told point blank without with out any uncertainy they will be charged and face criminal prosecution one idiots replaced with another idiots in Libya. They also executed Russians also.

Geneva convetion do not deal with mercenaries...so they went on to kill and normaly if being executed

Apparently the Nords haven't had much progress, short of economic, since their Viking times...

It is unlikely that there were mercs in Misrata because they are not loyal troops and never stay for the last stand. It is also unlikely that LPC soldiers (and don't give me that rebel BS because they were very, very well armed) executed any prisoners on sight because it is an unwise move, capturing them would show the extent Gaddafi went in his oppression and execution without trial just shows them in a bad light.

All in all, most blood in this conflict is on NATO's hands.

Do not believe a word of this. For them to know that the ''executed'' were Serbs or Croats, they would need to have had their IDs or passports, and if they had that, they would be able to report who was killed.

I think this is timely ''news'' considering that Libyan National TV station regularly reports on the Serb cyber war against the rebels and the large internet following Gaddafi has in Serbia. This is a desperate attempt by rebels to exert authority and send a message to Serbians who have been hacking and disrupting their websites.

I do not believe either Serb or Croat 'mercenaries' were executed. NATO propaganda. Very weak, too.

@Lenard Please do not confuse the actions of a government with the feelings of the public in that country. Ask the UK public if they agree with Blairs decisions in the past and 90% would not understand why he did what he did and if they did understand they will totally disagree with his actions.

It really is tragic that such people are now running around Libya. Besides these executions we also hear of looting and other anarchistic behaviour. Anyone who believes for a second that these 'rebels' are a group of lovely people who desperately long for democracy is utterly idiotic and needs to take a look at the bigger picture. If we hear of the Taliban executing people in Afghanistan or executions in Iran the western media is all over it condemning them as animals.

However when evidence arises as to the executions done by the 'rebels' the media wont touch on it, and why? Because NATO armed, funded and trained these clueless people, just as in Bosnia and Kosovo, where henious crimes were committed by western-backed sides, they said nothing about it, but obviously knew it was going on, this is the hypocracy at the highest and shows how the west doesnt give a damn about human rights.

Not to mention the fact that these people, be them Serbs, Croats, Russians or even Black Africans, were not even investigated as to whether or not they were mercenaries. This is racism that the supposedly liberal and democratic western world turns a blind eye to.

The world needs to wake up.

Yes. The foreign fighters in Libya were hired at rates much higher than members of the Libyan army received, which is one part of the definition of a "mercenary" - they were in it for the money. Not so with the volunteers in Kosovo, who were besides members of the armed forces of one of the parties to the conflict (another point in the definition). There are non-citizens in the U.S. armed forces (some join expecting to get U.S. citizenship) and they are as entitled to the protections of the Geneva Convention (being treated as a P.O.W., among others) as any recruit from the States.
