What is the reason why Kosovo wants to take over border controls? Simply because then the KPS officers (from Thaci's and other clans) can take the bribes from smugglers, and not local Kosovo Serb criminals. If Kosovo would like to control borders like it's requested by EU, then they should close down drug routes going through Albania and Macedonia

So Kosovo police will use force against serbian citizens, employees - medical workers, institutions that are being financed by serbian goverment?
(Hmmmm, 11 September 2011 05:37)
And you heard this where???
Isn't that the kind of statements that got your country into this mess, the Albanians are using violence against Serbs so they must be put in their place.

Under UN resolution 1244 which Kosovo is still under...the international organisations are supposed to be status neutral and take steps against any perpetrators of violence, irrespective if they are Kosovars, Serbians or anyone else for that matter. So may I ask why are all these statements very hypocritical here? Your "government" agreed to the UN resolution and therefore until matters become settled they should follow it. Which also means any unilateral actions are not to be taken that would jeopardize the security in the region...thus requiring approval from the UN and UNMIK. So if you don't like the resolution then your "government" should not have agreed to it...the position you are in is because of your own political system!
(stoj, 10 September 2011 21:10)
There are several inaccuracies in your post which leads me to believe that you must blindly follow your leaders without any actual thought processes.
1. Resolution 1244 was an UNSC resolution voted on and enacted by the UN Security Council and was not agreed on by anyone else.
2. The govt of Kosovo did not exist at the writing of 1244 as it is the blueprint for the foundation of developing the govt of Kosovo. So they could not have possibly "agreed" to it.
3. Actually the govt of Serbia did not exist at the time of its writing.
4. Customs and border crossings is an authority that has been turned over to the Prisitina authorities therefore they are not a subject that has to be discussed with Serbia at all.
5. Being status neutral means that whoever does not treat Kosovo as either independent nor a provincial govt of Serbia. However as per 1244 the Kosovo elected authorities are the legitimate governing body over the area.
6. UN, UNMIK, EU, EULEX, NATO are all in agreement that North Kosovo is a part of Kosovo and are to follow the laws established by the legally elected authorities in Pristina and not those in Belgrade. As per 1244.
7. Placing border and customs officers at any checkpoint is not an act of violence. However, trying to impede that action by either road blocks, riots, and destruction of property and use for force is considered violence.

Serbia is playing a risky politic when it comes to northern Kosovo. By risky politics I mean "lie lie that something with be left as truth.." and on the other side "internationalising" northern Kosovo "like Albanians did" with Kosovo to break away from Serbia. Is the international community that stupid to listen to the Serbian "warnings". Personally I doubt but that is to be seen. Serbia wants the division of Kosovo and take full control of norther. That would mean Serbian "compromise" for recognising Kosovo independence. That will "prove" Tadic's statement that "no one will feel a loser." To achive that it is need a strong propaganda how the Serbs in north are "terrorised" by Albanians, and "unilateral moves" by Pristina undermine the dialogue and nonsense like that...to come like the protests...

Pls say it ain't so!!

Very wise policy, quickly blame everyone in advance for the future violence of local gangsters and low life elements in the North and then point fingers to the victims of the violence as responsible, and of course to institutions which have no mandate to stop Pristina. Sick logic, it is not the coward snipers to be blamed, but the victim having been there.
