If they will get one or two Kosovo de-recognition done by a major player or by a neighbor with close ties to Serbia - than DS may pull through. As paradox as it is - such a de-recognition is in Kosovo's and implicitly "West" interest because the negative implications for them would be less than if, say, SNS or Radicals win.

In any case "West" is at a lose-lose dilemma: if they do not offer more sacrifices, things will go south (literally). So the carrot is not a question, the question is what kind of carrot.

Merkel just threw away the cheapest carrot. If that carrot will be re-cycled despite what she did - than she will look silly. I think, it was a mistake she did what she did before the elections.
