i hate having to correct you again, but if you wish to skew something as you have, all the while thinking it is a natural way to compare things, i'll let you, but if you wish to know how numbers are organized by size it is not relative, but direct.
follow this link and you'll see USA is number 1, China is number 2, not per GDP.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_military_expenditures

if you make 1000 a day and spend 100 a day, where as i might make 500 and spend 75, you still spend more, but i spend more with respect to what i earn. see the difference? use your words when you wish to say something, don't obfuscate a critical part of your argument and assume that people will understand a non-standard definition.
so you'd consider NKorea as part of that top ten, all the while they do not report their spending. you forget to mention that beyond isreal and georgia, which are not part of nam, suadi, uae and iraq (american vassels) are in the top 10, usa is 11, and kuwait is 12...
again, a very sneaky way to view it, not clear at all...

Not sure what top 10 list you're looking at? USA certainly has the highest military spending. If 8 out of top 10 are in NAM and USA is not Israel or Georgia, then USA is part of NAM, but that contradicts the definition of NAM, so then you are either looking at a subset of ALL nations which then becomes a ridiculous stat without the full disclosure of the subset, or you are full of it and wish to demonstrate exactly how full of it you are.
I pick the latter.
(paulie, 6 September 2011 02:03)

Let me simplify things that you understand better. China in 2010 spent 114 billion dollars for the military, whereas Serbia spent 950 million. Still Serbia is a bigger military spender than China, because as a share of GDP China spent less then Serbia. Things are compared apples-to-apples, not apples-to-oranges.

Yeah, NAM was never about big military spending... in your dreams. Out of the 10 top military spenders, 8 are members of the so-called NAM :) (the other 2 are Israel and Georgia).

You seem to confuse expenditure with donations.
CIA and State department jackals donate equipment to countries like Georgia.
How can any country (short of Israel) affor US toys, when the only money these poor governments make are selling carpets to the free world??

As for the other posters....
Like Serbia, hate Serbia, like Tadic, hate Tadic.....It doesn't matter.
At least Serbia has some sort of resemblance as a state, and partner in political affairs.
Even if it's at a low level.

Most posts here just seems to blow off steam at anything and everything the Serbian government does. Go cleanup your own backyards.

NATO is a waste of taxpayers money. How much of a nations GDP goes to feeding the war machine and toys to go with it, not to mention all the precious lives that get wasted in stupid wars.
(Dragan, Toronto, 5 September 2011 14:10)

NATO spends a very small portion of GDP… about 3.3% in 2010, less than Russia’s 4.3%. Serbia spends about 2.3%; 89% of the NATO member countries spend less then Serbia.

NAM was never about the above said, even though a majority of the nations had internal threats that consumed many lives needlessly, due in most part by dictatorial regimes bent on holding onto power for far too long.

Serbia lost all of its independence when Yugoslavia disintegrated. Not that it's unique to Serbia though, other former Yugoslav countries aren't really independent as well since they have to obey Germany or run the risk of being isolated... and that is highly ironic because it was Germany who started two devastating world wars.
(Vardarska Serb, 5 September 2011 17:04)

Obviously they prefer to better be depend from Germany than Serbia

So Serbia is just a peeking Tom in this great organisation and not a member? Well I guess Russia does not let the chain too loose to be called "non aligned".

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) states are aligned but they haven't realised that yet, even after all this time.haha It's a real pitty...haha. Maybe Serbia can help. Oh wait... what the hell,i forgot; Serbia is part of this dream movement too. Serbia, a country aligned to the non-aligend movement. What a mess, for a country that want's to be an EU member. Serbian state policy an example for all... (not) No Offense
