Your parents should restrict your time on this site. You never have anything of substance to say, so you must be a child. Anyway, I agree with the defense. Let's see the names of all these alleged victims. Let's see if they were civilians, what ethnicity or religious group, whether soldiers, or muhajadeen, etc? it's easy for the prosecution to make claims, but hard to provide facts. As for the West's assisting the Muslims, that is pretty clear. I look forward to that being brought up during the trial. This will all be very interesting, and hopefully revealing. I am sure there are many dirty hands involved in Srebrenica, not just Mladic's.

There is no way they will be able to convict Mladic of anything if he gets a fair trial.. Srebrenica was a hotbead of Islamic fundamentalists run by US intelligence just like Tobruk and Bengazi in Libya.. They attacked Serbs( American orders, I dont blame regular Bosnian Muslims for this). The Un did NOTHING as they were attacking Serbs because it was all planned so the NATO can intervene under the "humanatarian" cover.. Basically the same lies they are using against Ghadaffi now(Ghadaffi supported Milosevic bedause he knew the Muslim fighters in Bosnia were just a bunch of mercenary killers run by Us/UK western intelligence). Mladic finally attacked Srebrenica after they wouldn't stop attacking serbs.. The death tolls were about 3,000 some of them serbs.. The genocide charges are BOGUS and everyone knows it.. It's the same lies they are using against Ghadaffi now even though it's been 1000% comfirmed he NEVER fired on the civilians.. It's just propaganda to justfy a NATO intervention for their own geopolitical reasons under the "humanatarain" cover'.. Some of who haven't lived it should not post lies..

He's charged with the responsibilities of the death of these people, he should be entitled to the research surrounding those deaths, such as the DNA matching of the victims found in various mass graves. This research has been done and, especially if it's going to be used in court, it should be handed over to his legal team for examination. This is normal.

Maybe The Hague should sponsor a short 'holiday' for him in Potocari, and make a small tour with Mladic through the Srebrenica memorial/graveyard, so he can read all the names with his own eyes.

Danilo is right: we have too many people asserting this and that, and it is time at long last to set the record straight. I suppose one challenge in granting the defense their wish is that exhumation and analysis are ongoing. However, I believe the number of positively identified victims is now over 6,000. I would be curious to know why previous requests have been denied. B92 has kept us in the dark a bit on that; an extra sentence or two as to the reason would have lent a good deal of balance to the story. Sort of makes we wonder how such an elementary rule of journalism could be overlooked, especially as it isn't the first time I've noticed this happening. I fear that B92 staff don't trust that they can publish unbiased articles in safety.

the jasenovac institue is able to collect the names of hundreds and thousands serb victims murdered by croatian nazi the are many countires such a s cambodia that listed the over million murdered by pol pot surely a list of 7000 and the circumstances of there death including dates etc is not inplausible especially when you have the resources of the germans and the usa so readily available

Considering the pace of the ICTY that might be in 2050. How old will Mladic be then? Unless you want him to die "innocent" like his master this request is just meant to delay the proceedings.

Kind of a weird train of posts on this topic.

Bloody Mary and Danilo seem to be at odds with each other, even though I think they're basically on the same side of the debate. Both of you have good points by the way -- Mladic is probably looking to delay proceedings in whatever way he can, but to the extent that it would be practical, we should get some clarity from the prosecution on what they're seeing in terms of DNA analysis, forensics and so forth. I guess one concern I have is that no evidence on these matters would ever be enough for Mladic supporters. The ICTY can do no right in the eyes of most Serbs, even though I've never personally seen any Serb suggest a viable alternative (and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why Belgrade or Moscow would be problematic).

And to the posters here ranting about Muslim use of the enclave as a staging ground for attacks on Serbs, what do you call Sarajevo?

Oh, right. You'll claim that Sarajevo was nothing but Muslim on Muslim violence in a bid for international sympathy, but what on earth were the Romanija Corps doing when they trained their snipers and artillery on the city in the first place? I mean, weren't they just asking to be blamed for civilian atrocities? And whose voice did we hear telling his men to "Shoot at slow intervals...burn their brains" when the Sarajevo siege began?

Finally, what about this interview that Mladic gave Russian media in August 1995? Are we really to believe that someone just forgot about it all these years, and that it got lost in some storage closet without ever being aired until now? Getting a sitdown with Mladic about Srebrenica in August 1995 would be like getting an exclusive with Milosevic immediately after his ouster in October 2000. Any journalist lucky enough to get a gig like that would be set for life.

This is a pretty good documentary about Srebrenica and it is by a Bosnian Muslim... he seems to point out many things that others would ignore.

Of course he'll get a fair trial... Both the prosecutor and the judges were approved by Serbia's great allies, Russia and China, otherwise they would not be there. In addition the judges were also approved by the majority of the world countries.

No question -- the world needs to hear more about what happened from the Serbian point of view. The Muslims and Croats weren't merely innocent victims in this conflict. The issue I have with documentaries like this is that the story lacks scope. The horrors of eastern Bosnia didn't start in Srebrenica, and there was a lot more to the horrors of Bosnia than the fighting along the Drina. And of course, before Bosnia came Croatia and Slovenia.

BTW, this is a totally reasonable request by Mladic.
