Serb refugees criticize Croat president

its time for croatia to step up top the plate and pay the Serbs and return them to their ancestral lands. they listened to the west and the west told the Serbs to leave and not operation storm as their was a leak in these past few weeks and now its time for croatia to pay and return all Serbs to their lands and it will come to the expense of the croat people. because they listened to the west and we all know whats going on now dalmatia and istria are on their way back to Italy or independence because its been on the world news as of late and other nations have been taking their pie from the expense of croatia so now its time for the next piece which is and will be krajina with full autonomy to begin with.

Croats should return all stolen and damaged property to the Serbs and all Serbs to return who wish too and get full autonomy in krajina because those lands were serbian lands in history and should be fully today and we knew there was well over 800,000+ Serbs living their and not western lies and croatian lies that there was only 500,000 so we again see the truth and this should be brought up with the government and legal ways as soon as possible if croatia which was zagreb in history wants to join the EU. lets start today and not wait for tommorow

the croatian government should build all Serb homes and all 500,000+ Serbs to go back to their ancestor Serb lands of krajina now. i know there is 300,000 Serbs that live at home in krajina and now its time for the other 500,000+ to go back to their lands if they want and once everything gets all said and done they should ask for autonomy in their lands and eventual independence because that land is not croatian and is old serbian lands in history just like Dalmatia and istria are italian lnads and even their in talks and eventual independence of those lands so its time for krajina to get the same status in the future.that's fare and croatia should pay for all their farming equipment and all animals they had before the war should also be bought for them that were farming for a living , thats the price you have to pay for what the world helped you with since their was no operation storm like the croats claimed there was but was leaked in recent news that there was no operation storm and they only murdered old and defenseless people and here are the links to the truth. and the links to Dalmatia and istria leading to go back to Italy or independence from croatia.

Part of the problem is that Serbs buried or ignored all the crimes from WWII - and since Croatia was allowed to get away with that it strengthened their hand to do it again. That's what happens when you deny justice for a phony "reconciliation" or for "brotherhood and unity" with a people who have a bent for killing Serbs every 1-3 generations.

Why do Serbs believe that Krajina is "Serbian" land?

Yes, it is true that Serbs lived in Krajina for the past 500 years, but Croats have been living in these lands for even longer than that.

Serbs first emigrated to Krajina (aka the Croatian Military Frontier) when the Ottomans took over Serbia (since they did not want to live in an Ottoman-occupied Serbia). They fought alongside the Croats, and in exchange they were allowed to practice their religion and settle on the land.

How does this make the land Serbian? It was never a part of Serbia. How can a Serb claim that Krajina is Serbian (due to a sizable Serb population), yet at the same time claim that Kosovo (with its large Albanian population) is Serbia as well?

I sympathize with the Serbs and their Kosovo problem, because I believe that just because Kosovo has a large Albanian population, it does not make it Albanian land...just as I believe a large Serbian population does not make Krajina Serbian land.

The constant immature belittling of everyone elses culture and identity (be they Cro. , Alb. , Bos. , Mont. the 'west' or wheoever else it is you hate today) is not the seed that will lead to peace , justice and prosperity in the Balkans - it was the root cause of the evil that befell it.

To have a just solution acceptable to all sides will take a far greater moral and intellectual argument than what you have posted - of that you can be assured.

The Serbs think that dusty old krajina will once again be Serbia,it's like us Croats thinking that we will once again return to the borders of the NDH...
