Klaus is free to talk about any subject except Kosovo. If Tadic needs a mediator, he can always talk to honorable Mr. Erdogan. The Czech Republic should concentrate on its weak economy.

When do you best friends of dodgy albanians stop issuing threats? It is rather boring.

Kudos to the Czech prez. Delightfully and politically incorrect in an EU that demands the grey of conformity for the sake of 'european unity', even when the markets are ripping it to shreds because it is action, not words that count.

Very sensible comments by YAJS who I send my best regards to from Brussels... I
d have preferred Greece to have defaulted a long time ago, but I live in a country and interact with people in deep denial.

There is not a single nation in the radius of probably 1500 km which does not have songs and fairy tales about "evil Ottomans". If you look hard, you can always find mocking of a neighbor - like Slovaks mocking Hungarians or Ukrainians mocking Russians or so. But for songs about hatred towards Ottoman Empire you do not need to look hard, they are everywhere.

And in addition the ambitions of Erdogan are such that every his move is looked at with utter suspicion. 500 years were indeed too much - but he has aspiration to become the Emir of Muslims or what-not. And than everyone from Cairo to Warsaw looks funny at him.

Recently, Turks try to appease Macedonians, Albanians and Bosnians... with mixed result, some people could be more friendly towards that - most do not like it. Interestingly, unlike Germany where Turks are generally looked down upon - that is not the case in East/Southeast Europe. The rejection is almost exclusively towards the political establishment and of course towards their view of history, rarely personal.

I read at the EU Observer Website that the Polish Finance Minister says Europe at risk of collapse, and how the Euro Zone is wasting Money everyday just to prop up the value of the Euro.

The Polish Finance Minister went on to say: “We have a simple choice; Solidarity or the collapse of Europe.”

He may have been thinking mainly of Poland’s plight when he said that, but the European Union is run by consensus.

The Principle of consensus should be upheld with all European Union Countries revoking their support for the Illegal and Immoral Unilateral Declaration of Independence by the Albanians of Kosovo.

My opinion is that certain Countries who are not suited to the Euro should exit the Euro Zone, and then Default on all their IMF and World Bank loans.

Germany alone, should set up a European Monetary Fund or EMF, and lend Money Only to European Union or European Countries and only after it is decided if those Countries will be with the Euro Zone, or temporarily revert back to their old Currencies until they have their Financial and Economic Affairs in order.

What Money Germany loses on exports, it can gain by charging a modest interest rate on the Money it lends to other European Countries.
