Serbian Foreign Ministry's Foreign Policy Council President Sonja Liht said on Thursday she believed Serbia would get the EU candidate status.

Within the EU, Serbia will only be able to export gastarbeiters to Germany and to buy German products with German credit. This will further destroy Serbian industries as what happened with Greece but only worse!

p.s. The EU understand perfectly Serbia's position, it's just that they don't agree and I doubt very much they will change their mind.

What surprises me are so called liberal Serbians who still believe in a EUtopia after Merkel's visit! They have an illusion of being modern and intelligent (i.e. European intellectual) unlike the oldfashioned Serbians. It seems to me Serbian peasants (in Kosovo), having more wisdom and courage than the naive and spoiled Belgrade elite, will not let Belgrade, Pristina, Brussels or Washington have their way and hand over their future to Pristina behind their backs!
Read my lips even if you recognize Kosovo does not mean you will get into the EU! Most likely you will get EU candidacy without getting a date for entering the EU!
Serbians don't know the situation in Europe...
Rising populism in Western Europe (even among the liberal establishment) will halt the expansion of the European Union.
The EU can exploit Serbia without giving EU membership only promises to Serbia!
Serbia's best economic future will be outside the EU as a bridge connecting the EU with Eastern Europe and the Near East!
Within the EU, Serbia will only be able to export gastarbeiters to Germany and to buy German products with German credit. This will further destroy Serbian industries as what happened with Greece but only worse!

The US and EU have put so much money and effort into the Kosovo nightmare they can't walk away from it. It would make them look weak. So Serbia needs to find a way where the EU can tell the world they got what they wanted. The EU are perfectly aware of the hoax that was and is Kosovo. The lies perpetuated to justify US bombing, mass graves, operation horsehoe, Racak, Rambouillet all proven lies, but cannot extricate themselves from this black hole without egg on their face. So they want Serbia to pay the price for their stupid and frankly immoral behaviour.
