Germany keeps jerking Serbia around - by making statements then seemingly reversing or denying, then after a pause it remakes similar statements. The country is not to be trusted. It has done net damage against Serbia for many decades and "a leopard doesn't change its spots."

I think Germany's goal is simple. First of all, the country sees Serbia as an economically interesting trade partner. A de facto recognition of Kosovo independence would have the following results for Germany:

1. German troops could be pulled out. They're becoming too expensive for Germany.
2. In order to "guarantee the country's sovereignty", Germany would sell weapons to the Kosovo Army.
3. At the same time, Germany would expand its economic relationships with Serbia. This would include weapons' sales.

As a matter of fact, Germany's pretty much doing the same in Greece and Turkey. Both countries are Merkel's two most important arms' trade partners.

How about we suspend Germany from the EU until they extradict their own war criminals http://www.news.com.au/world/nazi-war-criminal-safe-in-germany/story-fn6sb9br-1226054321011

"The conditions for the EU membership are laid down in the Copenhagen Criteria written in 1995, and everything we are asking from an applicant country including Serbia is derived from these criteria," the ambassador noted.

And Brussels has on a number of occaisions made some very large exceptions to the rules. There is no 'rule of law', but 'rule of interests' when it comes to decisions by the 'EU' (sic Bg & Ro). The germans, like everyone else who parrot the same line on this subject are simply lying over and over again, something that Goebbels trained them to do not so long ago. Why Belgrade still believes that these people play 'by the rules' is mystifying but they have nothing else to offer politically than skipping along the Yellow Brick Road to join the illusory Emerald City. These same people are protecting war criminals and hiding evidence of their own complicity in war crimes. 'Europe' is rotten as events have proven...
