If Albanians think that they are truly independent why do they bother getting more recognitions?
Looks like their rich kin folk are traveling the globe trying to buy more recognitions and wasting their money when really they don't have to because they are independent.
I wonder why they want to waste money and time.
(Peggy, 16 August 2011 11:18)

If Serbia is truly independent why remains a UN member spending money to contribute to the UN budget. I wonder why they want to waste money and time of Serbia's diplomats

you dont have to worry about why... just that serbia has nothing to say in the matter.

Since according to you and your lot Kosovo is and always will be Serbia and it is "guaranteed" by international law. Why is Serbia spending hundred times more visiting every country trying to stop recognitions. Why is Serbia wasting all that time crying to every INTERNATIONAL organization there is about what is happening in its own "province"? That is the bigger question. Of course we know the answer.

"Kosovo stamps must be status-neutral"

A stamp showing dung sucked by a black hole and surrounded by marijuana leaves sounds both status-neural and factual to me. And one single kidney on the top.

"Kosovo stamps must be status-neutral"

Official Belgrade finds acceptable all solutions for customs stamps which do not impinge upon the issue of Kosovo status, says Borislav Stefanović.

If you Albanians think your Kosovo independence is cemented then why do you continue to come here and make snide remarks about our politicians?
(Vardarska Serb, 15 August 2011 22:23)
Of course would could say IF you Serbians think Kosovo is Serbia and always will be then why do you have to constantly say it day in and day out while attempting to belittle all Albanians.
(Too funny, 16 August 2011 00:01)

You don't read me writing it constantly do you? That's cause I know that these here numbers-1244-read louder than these here letters that I just wrote. Did y'all know that before?
Try reading it again and you'll see what I'm writing about.

I state quite the opposite ! Kosovo has never been this far from to be an own state.
(Staff, 15 August 2011 18:55)

If “never being this far from to be an own state” means being today recognized by more countries than ever before, than Albanians would be happy of “never being this far from to be an own state”. As usual, Staff, you’d just need to define what your words mean, and we can always agree.

ALL international organisations and actors are totally split with majority for the Serb side when it comes to Kosovos statehood.
(Staff, 15 August 2011 18:55)

Let’s see some of these “ALL”. If being “split with majority for the Serb” means that Kosovo gets accepted in international organizations like WB and IMF, than Albanians are happy that the international organizations are “split with majority for the Serb”. As usual, Staff, you’d just need to define what your words mean, and we can always agree.

No, keep on struggling Serbia and good work Stefanovic. Kosovo is sinking and the K Albanians have lost 50% of the support they had a year ago. Period.
(Staff, 15 August 2011 18:55)

If “loosing 50% of the support they had a year ago” means being recognized today by more countries than one year ago, I’m sure that Albanians would be happy to be “loosing 50% of the support they had a year ago”. As usual, Staff, you’d just need to define what your words mean, and we can always agree.

You see, I’ve said over and over again that this argument between Serbs and Albanians is just a misunderstanding of definitions, since the words (in English, at least), are not used with the same meaning by both parties. So, if we clarify the definitions of words, than Albanians and Serbs will agree about almost everything.

"In the talks with Belgrade, Priština insisted on a stamp which would read "republic of Kosovo".

This stamp was recognized by all EU member states upon recommendation of UN Special Representative for Kosovo Lamberto Zannier, who claimed that this is in keeping with Resolution 1244"

So discussion is closed... the stamp is in line with 1244 ! So either Serbia accepts it or Serbia's goods can't enter Kosovo.

As a foreigner recently arrived in Belgrade, I find the Serb-Albanian rivalry over Kosovo both entertaining and sad.

If Kosovo is a fully independent country with no ties to Serbia except old hatred, why do so many Albanians feel the need to come onto a Serbian website and write their feelings? After 3 years of independence, surely you have moved on... Perhaps not!

Some people are proud that 77 countries recognise Kosovo. What about the other 125?????

And then there are the Serbian comments. Serbia lost Kosovo in 1999 due to the stupid policies and actions of Milosevic. I am astounded by how Serbs love their heros - especially the ones that made Serbia poorer and reviled by everyone. Kosovo is an economic black hole. Serbia has a rubbish economy already. Do you really want to be responsible for Kosovo too? You must be mad.

Personally, I wish UNMIK and EULEX would leave Kosovo and not provide a single cent more in aid. Then we'd see how successful an independent Kosovo really is.

Staff - You can state whatever "opinion" you want. However, just because you state an opinion doesn't make it fact. Lets fact check your statements.

1)"Kosovo has never been this far from to be an own state" Really? Tell that to the 77 countries that have recognized them as independent. Not to mention the worlds greatest Superpower the USA and a majority of Europe..you know, the area that Serbia wants to be a part of.

2) "Look at EU, do you really think the latest move has qualified Kosovo to be an own country" Last time I checked it was the Europeans and Americans planes bombing Serbia back into the stone age in support of the Kosovar Albanians. The ICJ gave an opinion in support of Kosova's independence declaration. KFOR troops (european) are carrying out the wishes of Thaci at the borders. The USA has repeatedly stated that Kosova's independence is irreversible. The Germans even recently stated that there will be no partition. There are some out there like yourself that no matter how many facts are presented, you will never recognize "The Truth".

3) "EU is tired to the bones with this black, trouble making, money sucking hole called Kosovo and its gangster regime" Thanks for sharing your "personal opinion." I have yet to read these statements being quoted from ANY European official or anybody of any importance. In the meantime...I'll believe what I hear coming from the European community.

4)"Keep on struggling Serbia and good work Stefanovic" I've figured out what the problem is with Serbia. They do not know what "success" or "victory" because they haven't had any in 50 years so they keep repeating their same mistakes over and over believing a loss is a victory. Finding "victory" in a loss will always bring you back to square one...being a loser.

5)"Kosovo is sinking and the K Albanians have lost 50% of the support they had a year ago. Period" I almost spit out my coffee because of laughter! The problems arise when the idealistic desires(Serbians) collide with real world realities(Kosova's Independence). Kosova's path to independence is here and its unstoppable!

Most people posting comments here don't want to think. They just want to vent their rage at whomever disagrees with them. Facts don't matter. Information is evil. You're either with them or you're against them. I think Serbs are in the process of paying for the last 20 years of misinformation and hate provided by certain corpulent politicians and and other various Serb "media" that provides biased news coverage. The bottom line, Staff, is that reading the comments in these forums is getting quite depressing. Serbs are going to get what they deserve, and posting a few comments here and there isn't going to change any of the minds that need to be changed in Serbia. Worry about Serbia and take care of your own. The 90's are over.

Stefanovic! Get it through your head. You lost this latest round of diplomatic boxing with Pristina regarding the border ordeal. With that in mind, Pristina has no reason to accept anything less than having Kosova's name on the stamps because Serbia CANNOT do anything about it! When you have the weaker hand...you have to fold. Stefanovic is all out of Ace's. However, he has gotten pretty good with his megaphone:)

So, if we clarify the definitions of words, than Albanians and Serbs will agree about almost everything.

what I tell you?

If Albanians think that they are truly independent why do they bother getting more recognitions?
Looks like their rich kin folk are traveling the globe trying to buy more recognitions and wasting their money when really they don't have to because they are independent.
I wonder why they want to waste money and time.

Because we can Vardarska Serb. Because we can. If you don't like the exchange of thoughts and opinions no matter how much they irritate you, then maybe its YOU that should not continue to come here and critique us. Don't dish the heat if you cant take it.

"Kosovo stamps must be status-neutral"

A stamp showing dung sucked by a black hole and surrounded by marijuana leaves sounds both status-neural and factual to me. And one single kidney on the top.

Of course we know the answer.

poor peggy. It's quite enjoyable to see serb apologists try to play off recognitions, as they themselves spend so much effort fooling themselves that non-recognitions somehow means support for serbia.

you dont have to worry about why... just that serbia has nothing to say in the matter.

tick tock.

If Serbia is truly independent why remains a UN member spending money to contribute to the UN budget. I wonder why they want to waste money and time of Serbia's diplomats
