The whole issue is utterly ridiculous. Serbs and Montenigrins are the exact same people, they are just from different regions. The fact that I a Serb can go to Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and even Macedonia and perfectly understand people shows something in itself, that it is the same language with the odd regional and minor dialect difference. One may say that Croatian is a bit different, it can be in some minor cases, but to say that there is some sort of a distinct Montenigrin language is nothing but a lie. Montenigrins and Serbs are the same people, any Montenigrin who denies this is himself in denial, end of.

Montenegro is like the croatia suddenly they all speak different languages. To me it was always called serbo- croatian.
They all should be happy that there are so many people, countries are speeking this language. They will enter the EU with an official EU language. How stupid now the EU has to translate from montenegan tocroatian to Bosnian and to serbian.

This sounds like a sound compromise to me, and as such represents good news in a region in which words like 'compromise' and 'consensus' are seldom heard regardless of what the language is called.

This language thing is ridicilous. Everyone knows that Serbian is spoken in Montenegro. If some politicians want to say that they speak Indian or Monetenegrin, fine, they can say that (in Serbian) if they like ;-)

What is more interesting is the dual citizenship question, that need to be solved. I can understand why Tzar Milo don't want to give citizenship to the more than 200 000 Montenegrins that live in Serbia.. Imagine the election results if they were allowed to vote in Montenegrin elections!

Bye Bye Mr Tzar Milo, you can always live on the money you stole from society, until some Berane mob guys decide that you are no longer untouchable..

I dont have a problem with whatever Montenegrans want to do inside thier own country. They can speak Serbian and call it swahili for all I care. But what montenegrans such as Tadic and the majority of serbian politicians who happen to be montenegrans do in serbia is of concern to me. Now that Montenegrans have thier own nation, thier own made up language and soon thier own rewritten history let them go back home. Tadic can lead, Radovan Karadzic may get parolled and be able to return to montenegro but unfortunatley Milosevic can never return to his montenegran roots.

This is one time when negotiations seemed to have worked - the Serbians can send their kids to school where they'll be taught in their mother tongue (plus required lessons in MN) - as can Bosnian, Croatian, and Albanian parents. And the Constitution stays unaltered (it's probably not a good idea to amend a constitution every time there's a problem.)

But have you guys thought about coming up with a "Yugoslav language" before you bust the EU's translation budget?

What's the difference between Serbian and Montenegrin? And what's the point of insisting on this when there are more people in your country who think that they speak Serbian than those who think they speak your official language? How sad, how ridiculous!
