Being voted in, and recognized by the UN, pretty much does.
(papajohn, 15 August 2011 12:18)

You got it all wrong. UN can't recognize anything. No article of the UN charter gives that power to the UN. Countries recognize countries.

Even assuming that the UN votes to recognize X, X is nothing until other countries recognize it. Recognition is a sovereign power of countries. UN can't order other countries to recognize X.

Thats lie! Kosova is big exporter of trash metal!
(KoSA, 15 August 2011 12:15)

Where do you start following such a comment? So Kosovo lives off exporting scrap metal?

One can only laugh at such a ludicrous statement. The reality is that Kosovo lives off EU handouts and has nothing of value to export except if you think drugs and human organs are a commodity for trade. Officially Kosovo has 40% unemployed, but in reality it’s about 80% with 17% employed by government and 3% in private industry.

Now how is an independent Kosovo going to survive? It cannt and that is why the US is now talking of reintegration of the Balkans to try and find employment for all those hungry Albanian mouths.

Can you guess where they would like to employ those Albanians – Serbia mate; that’s where. One way or another Kosovo will return to the Serbs.

The only people who are 'doing well' in Kosovo are either the ones employed by the state (payed with donor money + the usual bribes extorted from citizens) or the ones 'employed' by some local mafia clan (payed with drug money). An ordinary Kosovo citizen has to live on less then €7 a day.
(Comm. Parrisson, 15 August 2011 16:07)
I love it when Serbs start looking down their noses at the people of Kosovo. It reminds me of a 2nd grader calling a 1st grader uneducated.
That is why people in America who are called "white trash" are usually racist, their only way of feeling better is to try to make someone look worse.

Kosova custom seals are in accordance with 1244,even your ally UNMIK Zanieri have said that.In the seals doesn't say The customs of Republic of Kosovo but just "the custom of Kosovo" in 3 languages albanian,Serb and English.
Serbian position in this issue is ridiculous.

Haha, thats hilarious! :-)

But lets not forget Kosovos biggest export is drugs.
Not to mention trafficking in weopons and human body parts!
What a sameful place. A real stain on Europe!
(Predrag, 15 August 2011 13:29)

Serbia like all balkan countrys export drugs and metall. You are not better than no other balkan country. You say that 90 % from or to Kosovo goes through Serbia. So why are you letting the drugs wich goes through Kosovo to go through Serbia ? Maybee drugs from Kosovo flyes over Serbia to EU ? :D

What we export is not your problem since Kosovo is independent. When you people make fun and joke aurond we in Kosovo make things happend. The only thing you serbs can come up with is BS. Croats are this, albanians are that... Croatia have passed you in every aspect and that is what Kosovo will do also. You can continue with your childish BS but you will lose in the end. You said Kosovo would never dare to declare independence but what happend ?? You say Kosovo will fail as a state but we are doing very well. We can even ban serbian cheap goods for more expensive goods from Albania and Macedonia.

Now how many serb citizens will lose their job when you cannot export goods to Kosovo worth 350 mln yearly?? What do you think will happend to the Serbian economy ?? Let's see...

Maybee you are so tough and don't need our market ? Ha ha

Why not simply use the word "Customs"? Forget the "Republic of Kosovo" part - would that make it easier to accept? If so, please note - that's what the current stamp says. And UNMIK (Zannier) says it's in accordance with Res. 1244.

So what's the big problem?

Pristina, and the Albanians are so eager to have their own stuff, it's laughable. They truly behave like children at times. Jumping up and down, and screaming we are a country, does not make you one. And just because other countries, even if they are some of the powerful ones, does not make you a country either. Being voted in, and recognized by the UN, pretty much does. Look at what the Palestinians are trying to do. And look where Taiwan stands. Yes, you can pretend to be a country, but in reality you are not.

Kindergarten. Can some informed person please tell my why there is need for custom stamps at all, when Serbia and (UNMIK-)Kosovo are both CEFTA members, which means goods can be exported and imported from/to member countries without customs?
