Exactly! Why buy from Serbia where the food is cheaper when they can buy more expencive food from Macedonia, USA, Australia and other western countries. After all Serbs living in nothern Kosovo are all rich so they can afford it.

Unfortunately, Serbia is independent from Kosovo, so Kosovo's government cannot force Serbia's government to accept Kosovo's customs stamps for which UNMIK has repeatedly assured that they are in line with 1244 and CEFTA provisions. So I understand that the actions of the Serbian government are increasing the cost of food for Serbs making it equal to the cost of food for the rest of Kosovo, but there is nothing Kosovo's governemtn can do about it.

What kind of people run Kosovo? To threaten someone and to sancionaize them so that they would do what you want them to do. The only reason albanians and NATO are preventing food from Serbia to reach Serbs in Kosovo is to force them into submission and the recognition of thier banana republic. However, we Serbs are the dumb ones. We should do the same. Prevent foreign trucks, with Kosovo as destination, passage through Serbia. Since 90 percent of Kosovos imports go through Serbia they would be forced to bring in supplies through Albania and Madeconia. Let them suffer like Serbs in Mitrovica have suffered.

"Local store owner Dragan Stefanović [...] pointed out however that there would not be enough foodstuffs to meet citizens’ needs if only 3.5-ton trucks could go through the Jarinje and Brnjak checkpoints."

Nobody is forcing Dragan to have the trucks coming from Jarinje and/or Brnjak. He is free to purchase his foodstuffs from other places. For example, trade with Macedonia remains open.
