"Podgorica-based daily Dan writes that it would most likely be proposed to make the Serbian and Montenegrin languages equal in the country’s education system"

Great, that would turn Montenegro into a truly bilingual society.

100 years ago there was one language called: Serbian
Croatian was spoken in areas around Zagreb,
Slovenian was spoken in Slovenia,
Macedonian, was spoken in Macedonia,
All other areas of Yugoslavia and northern Macedonia Serbian was spoken!
In Montenegro we have the "eastern shtokavian" dialect, besides Montenegro its also spoken in eastern Herzegovina and along the drina river, and also in most of Serbia.
To further divide the dialect in Montenegro: In western Montenegro the dialect: "Eastern hercegovian" is spoken, this dialect is also spoken in South western Serbia, the whole of Bosnia, kraijna and in slavonia.
In old Montenegro en eastern sandzak the dialect "Zeta-south sandzak" is spoken, this dialect is also spoken in eastern sandzak Serbia, and on the dalmatian coast, central bosnia, around bihac and around sombor.

So on what do these politicians in montenegro base the montenegrin Language?
which of the 2 dialects?
there is no diffrence in the montenegrin language that people of serbia/croatia and bosnia speak,
Shtokavian=serbian

" I know its not called Serbian every thing has to be Serbian called Serbian seen through Serbian pink glasses lol."

In fact, the language once was called Serbo-Croatian, which made some sense. There were some dialect/regiolects usually referred as stokavian/ijekavian, ekavian, ikavian..., plus some regional used vocabulary. Only later nationalists thought it was smart to 'create' totally new languages called 'Croatian', 'Bosnian', 'Serbian' and not 'Montenegrin'

If you wish to live in Montenegro you are expected to speak Montenegrin. There is a reason why Montenegro split with serbia. serbs must read the handwriting on the wall. If we go to serbia we will speak serbian just as we expect serbs to speak Montenegrin when they are in our country. Try going to Pristina and speak serbian.

Does this mean they're going to be learning both? Thats ridiculous and a waste of time. Why cant they simply go on like the rest of the world. Argentines, Cubans, Chileans speak spanish, and they dont have a problem with that. Nor Do Australians or Americans have a problem with speaking english, or brazilians and portugese. Out of all the balkans disputes this is the most pointless of the lot

Serbs say Montenegrin is same as Serbian so wat is the big deal of the Serbian minority using Montenegrin. I know its not called Serbian every thing has to be Serbian called Serbian seen through Serbian pink glasses lol.

What is wrong with Montenegrin nationalists inventing a language that doesn't exist. Americans, Australians, New Zealenders, Canadians, South Africans, don't claim to be English but they all nonetheless speak English. This paranoia is embarrassing. They're making themselves look like idiots. I say expend your energies finding people jobs, and combat corruption instead of pandering to chauvanism. There is only one language; Serbian, or Serbo-Croat as it used to be called.

everyone knows in the world that montenegrins are Serbs and the ones running away from it are the criminals like Milo djukanovic because they want money but its back firing because 44% say they speak and are Serbs and the rest just don't know what to say because they want to please mr gangster but its changing again and more and more are saying they are Serbs so who cares about the fake census and its time to join serbia again thats the root its taking or the Serbs get full autonomy in all areas which is 50% of montengro lol and i am a montenegrin Serb.!!! not a djukanovic puppet.
