bganon, there is no perfection in this world.

Yugoslavia was cracked by Milosevic (a serb) policy starting with Kosova.

There was no Tujdman at that time (at least one that was asking for Croatia to be independent) It was Milosevic, breaking up Yugoslav constitution by revoking autonomy of Vojvodina and Kosova that made all the other constituent nations of Yugoslavia become paranoid of Serb nationalism. After that it's all history.

Don't justify Serb nationalism. Every nationalism is evil, be that Croatian or Albanian. But the most damage in the Balkans was caused by Serb nationalism and it continues to this day. If you have a different perspective on what exactly happened with Yugoslavia, please speak up.
I am only pointing to the facts. My opinion of Serbs is by far different on what Peggy thinks it is but that's another story. Serbs have to accept their full responsibility in starting the wars in the Balkans, and there is no other scenario to it. You justify the Serbs in Knin to be paranoid because some historical events that happened half a century ago with ustasa forces, how can't you justify K-Albanians for not wanting to live under Serbs anymore?

bganon

When am I going to get what Peggy? That because other people might lack principle or consistency that I have to behave like them?

No thanks. Do it your way and the world ends up sick with radicalism.

You're joking aren't you?
You still hold hope that an Albanian will want to even consider what the Serbs went through in Croatia or anywhere else let along understand it.
When are you going to get it?

"Croatian courts are yet to convict a single person for the war crimes committed during the military and police onslaught against the country's Serb areas, Besides this,
..between 150,000 and 250,000 Serb civilians were driven from their homes, and a majority never returned.
20,000 houses were destroyed, valuable property stolen, while many homes have since been usurped."

This is nothing to be proud of Mr. Josipović.
You speak with a forked tongue.

Your so-called operation was with the assistance of Nato Aistrikes and foreign troops leading the operation. 230,000 soldiers? From where? Croatia never did have a force that size! Of course Croatia could never win any battle against the Serbs.

Miri you should try to have more understanding of the situation of Serbs in Croatia at that time, even if you oppose Serbia generally.

They were genuinely scared at what would happen to them, as it had happened before. It wasn't the ordinary people who were to blame. For the ordinary Serbs in Croatia, the Croatian government was the evil that was coming their way. For them there was no other choice but to take up arms. Tudjman did not offer olive branches to Croatian Serbs, short of the odd platitude for EU consumption. That is entirely logical Tudjman came to power on a platform of Croatian nationalism, in an attempt to unify as many former Croatian Communists and Ustase under his banner. The Serbs were nowhere in his equation. It was slightly different in larger towns in Croatia, at least in places like Rijeka, and even Zagreb, but in Zagreb we have the case of the Zec family that shows how welcome Serbs had become in Croatia.

This was in no way just the consequence of Tudjmans policy or Milosevic stirring up Serbs in Croatia!
This was the final point in a history of Croatian fascism which from the late 19 century craved for an ethnic cleansed Croatia!
It started with the ideolog Ante Starcevic around 1890 who wrote in his paphlets that Serbs are a "parasites upon the Croatian body" which must be erased!
In WW1 Croats enthusistically joined in a war against Serbia as part of the Austro-Hungarian troops!
After their defeat they begged the victorious Serbia to be treated as brothers in a unity state (of course after loosing the war)which was a terrible mistake by the Serbian policy who could have expelled the Croatian aggressors from Bosnia,Slavonia and Dalmatia and formed an ethnic Serbia guaranteed in the London accords of 1915!
As soon as the first Yugoslavia Croats started immediately to make problems,to claim other peoples lands,to backstab wherever they could(assasination of King Alexander was also organized by Ustasa Croats, ironically they killed the men who saved them from Serbian revenge after WW1)!
When Germany invaded Yugosalvia in 1941 ,they immediately throw away their arms and greeted the Nazis enthusiastically in Zagreb(look on youtube)!
The Croatian Nazi puppet regime under Ante Pavelic established as THE ONLY NATION IN EUROPE except Germany concentration camps where hundred of thousands of Serbs where killed!
After the defeat of the Ustasi, the old story continues, the Croats come with their tails between their legs beaten by the Serb in a second time and begg again to be treated as a brother in a new Yugoslavia!
And you know what, instead of punishing the Croats for their horrible deeds and annexing Dalmatia,Bosnia and Slavonia immediately to Serbia the stupid Serbs who brought Tito to power AGAIN spared the Croats!

After the war the same story again,Croats complain after a while that their national rights are breached(Maspokret in 1972 which led to the Yugoslav constitution in 1974 which allowed Croatia to secede (but of course not the Serb inhabited areas))

After that came the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Croatia whome Milosevic saw as a bargaining chip who he sold away!

The story is a story of Croatian fascism and backstabbing at each and every opportunity and of unbelievable Serb naivety and apsolutely no interest from Belgrade in helping Serbs on the other side of the Drina!

I hope the events of the 90s cured Serbia at least once and for all of all Yugonostalgia!

Only Serbia and Serbian national interests count, nothing else!

Victory day should not be bragged about. The United States provided air support and the Juoslav army withdrew, leaving their brethren to be assulted and driven out of their own homes ! Shame on the Serbian government for that fiasco !

We do feel sorry for nations like croats with no history, who are celebrating ethnic cleansing as a victory..but then them and albanians never would have any history if it wasn`t for foreigners fighting for them..so every little victory is huge for these loosers..
