Of course restitution must mean the return of everything stolen by the communist regime imposed on Serbia by Stalin's tanks and Western complicity after WWII. But at least those criminals gave us all receipts for the things they stole from us and using those receipts we can fight to get our inheritance back. What is far worse are the so-called Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS - the alliance led by Kostunica, Djindjic and others who came to power after the US-funded coup that ousted Milosevic). This new regime, many of whose leaders are sons of the former communist nomenklatura, have since "privatized" much of our stolen property by fencing it to their friends and assorted tycoons at discount prices... and in many cases, we are being told that such sales of stolen property cannot be reversed. If their view of justice is allowed to stand, then Serbia will be one of the few countries ever to have openly passed a law that explicitly says: "Crime DOES pay"!

Djindjic and others after him took millions of dollars in donations from the Serbian diaspora on a pledge of real restitution. The time has come to end the conspiracy of state-organized theft of private property in Serbia. We need the USA and other countries to pass the equivalent for Serbia of the Helms-Burton act that was passed to impose sanctions on any country or state that does business with the unlawful "owner" or user of stolen Serbian private property.
