Without sounding negative i don't think the Spanish or any other Ethnic group will win anything from the undemocratic EU structure. The whole point of democracy is that it does what the people want and not what the powerful elites want. That's the virtue of it.

But unfortunately representative democracy doesn't represent the people of a country any more.

The "Indignants" are right to protest. May they be successful. Even before the advent of democracy dictatorial governments thought long and hard before oppressing the working population as badly as the "market" tyrants of today. To find regimes as merciless as today's one has to go back to the eighteenth century when complete pauperization and destitution were simply seen as facts of life. The present financial overlords are fit successors to Marie Antoinette (let them eat cake!) and Frederick the Great. There can be, there MUST be, international agreements and pacts that transfer all financial power to democratically elected leaders and put the money despots in their places! Let them drown in their two-hundred-Euro bottles of champagne and cognac, but let the PEOPLE make the rules.
