On a biter note Croatian tourist numbers these year are up over 20% from last year which was also one of the best years. The western Europeans ,Americans know who their friends are and will be spending their time and money in friendly Croatia [link] [link]
(Lenard, 27 July 2011 09:28)

Leanrd if the western world implodes your Croatia will sink faster than a rock in a swimming pool. Please don’t quote the Croatian government statistics because they are incorrect. Simply put if the west is going through an economic crises the chances of increasing tourist numbers in Croatia is very small. Have a good look at the uS dollar and compare it to the Australian dollar and it might give you a clue.
We wil use the Croatian Government’s population numbers even if they are wrong, but say Croatia has a population of 4.2 million. Just under half are not workforce ready as they are pensioners children etc so that leaves you 1.2 million who are capable to work. The Croatian Government states that they have 400,000 unemployed, but in reality it is closer to 600,000 when you take all criteria into account. So that would give you 50% unemployemt.
Today you have hotel staff on the Dalmatian coast on strike because they are not being paid regualry – they are only providing breakfast.
On one of your videos I notice the nice buildings but I wondered when did the Croats construct them? They did not but the Austro Hungarian Empire did; so I would not take credit for something you guys did not do – that’s your worst feature, taking credit for other people’s work.

Concerning the right to work in the EU, I would like to inform you that Romanian citizens will be allowed to work in every EU Member State on 1 January 2014.

I live in Malaysia as just to the northeast we have the Philippines. Its people are the most mobile work force in the world as there are thousands and thousands working under contract anywhere from the middle east to Australia, China etct. If these people do not follow the work their country would collapse. The main form of work is maids, cleaners and laborers. Some have qualifications and earn good money but the majority does not.
The majority in Malaysia work in hotels as domestic staff or private homes as maids and cooks to the rich. If this is what you are looking forward to then take it from me, don’t. I’ve seen how these poor people live.
Having finished university and then having to leave your country to look for work where they clean washrooms or picking fruit is wrong.

Does anyone really believe that Montenegro's so-called 'independence' was a spontaneous and grassroots outpouring of desire among its people?

Look at a map.

While Serbs were busy worrying about Kosovo, which I understand in principle, their access to the sea was wrenched from them.
(TP, 26 July 2011 22:14)

Montenegro is not gone from Serbia forever. This is just a project financed by the Western titanic sinking ship. When the ship finally sinks, so will funding and popular support for Montenegro to be de-serbianized. Since we all agree shifting eastward is in Serbs best interest, the people of Montenegro will slowly follow suit.

'Serbia should instead join the BRIC nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation'

I, too, agree that this would be a good solution for Serbia. But there's a problem - some powers don't want that to happen and have already taken measures to minimise the possibility.

It should be left to the citizens of Serbia to vote on whether they want their country to become a full fledged member of the EU whether Kosovos status is recognized or not.End of story

I agree, Serbia would be a attractive location for both organizations to enhance cooperation with, if our govt did not drain our resources to joining the EU aka the sinking Titanic. It just doesn't make sense until you look at the fact that very reason the people running BGD are even in power is because that sinking ship once upon a time had $$ to throw around at foreign interests instead of saving for the inevitable.

Serbia should freeze talks with Albs, suspend accession talks with the EU and begin negotiations for accession into SCO & CSTO and closer cooperation with the rest of the BRIC countries.

My opinion for what it is worth is that I think Serbia should NOT ever join EU. I am from Canada, and I visited Serbia this past summer. It is a beautiful country and very rich in resources and land. Of course the people cannot make lots of money, but many have land in towns and villages. And the people want to work and when they work, they work hard. I can see that NATO bombing and sanctions did not destroy the country or the peoples' spirit. They fought and survived b.c the land gave them what they needed to survive and those with land had food to eat. By joining EU, sure people can maybe make more money, but I promise you this, prices will increase dramatically. Okay, so now you make more money, but things will cost more. So what then? Only the rich will become richer and there will be no middle class and the poor will be even poorer. That is what is happening in a "rich" country like Canada and other Western European countries. The EU needs Serbia now b.c it is rich in resources and it is strategically located. If they see that Serbians are desperate to join EU, Brussels will blackmail Serbia with all these "conditions." If Serbians say, "to hell with EU," Brussels will loosen the noose. Any reasonably informed individual can see why EU is manipulating Serbia to recognize Kosovo, so I won't comment on that.
I also visited Kosovo, and the Albanians have DESTROYED so many Serbian sites, graves, and historic orthodox churches. And the land that was once rich has been raped and lays barren. I don't see any Albanians working hard on the land to serve themselves and make Kosovo more self-sufficient. They play the "poor us" game and expect financial hand-outs. I wonder why Serbia does not cut them off completely, but I understand since there are still many Serbs trying to survive and live there.
Joining EU means putting Serbia in prison and plunging the country and its people into greater debt and having to bow down to western Europe and the U.S. And, why on earth would Serbia want to join EU now to only absorb its horrible and almost unmanageable debt? Leave that to be Croatia's problem. I see many comments about how by joining the EU, it has not helped Romania or Bulgaria any more. It would be interesting to meet and speak with a regular person from either country to ask them if their lives have improved since joining EU.
It irritates me that Canada does not do anything without U.S "approval," or that we don't make our own decisions regarding foreign affairs.
To say we are living in a democracy...you would have to be an idiot to believe that!
I cannot wait to return to Serbia and enjoy the bustling cities, eat rich and flavourful food, and travel through the beautiful countryside and visit historical sites and churches and monasteries.

NOTHING because if you go “naked in the EU you will still be naked”.
What has Romania or Bulgaria got from becoming members? NOTHING, your still poor countries. What this about joining the Schengen Area? Big deal your people can go to other EU members looking for work, wow cleaning toilets and streets or picking vegetables or fruit – truly a workers paradise on earth.
I hope Serbia never joins.

Sj has again hit the nail on the head.Bulgaria and Romania got nothing from joining the EU(we are talking about the population at large here and not few EU bureaucrats with their hands on the till). The customs union (abolition of tarrifs)has destroyed whatever little left of their economies. Now they borrow money from Germany to buy German exports because the Germans have too low domestic consumption and don't reciprocate. Then the Germans, having saved the entire continents stock of Euros, complain when they have to give the money back so that cycle can start again.

Joining the Schengen Area has got to do more with national pride than any additional benefits for Bulgaria and Romania.Mircea can do us all a favour and visit Greece's second largest city Thessaloniki and see for herself what jobs Bulgarians and Romanians are doing.Only last week local authority officers collected more than 200 Bulgarian and Romanian children begging on the streets.I have also seen the same thing in France and Italy.

Sj,

Don't worry, Serbia will not join the EU before 2020. By the time Serbia joins the EU, Romania will be part of the Schengen Area and my country will have the Euro as its currency.

When Romania joins the Schengen Area there will be no more controls at the land, air and sea borders between Schengen member states.

The Schengen Area has NOTHING to do with the right to work in the EU.

Mircea EU serf, Croatia cannot impede Serbia’s entry into the EU. While Romanians are 2nd class EU serfs, the Croats will be 3rd class serfs. They will do as they are told by their Germanic masters. The question is whether Germany wants Serbia in the EU.

Serbia will probably join the EU in 2020. If Croatia will block Serbia during the accession process Serbia will join the EU after 2020.

The road to the EU will be long and difficult for Serbia. Serbia will probably obtain EU candidate status in October 2011.

My country, Romania, will join the Schengen Area on 30 October 2011.
(Mircea EU citizen, 26 July 2011 11:19)

Croatia is nothing when you look at the bigger picture. Just like the US demanded from EU countries recognition of Kosovo so will Croatia be told to shut up and mind its own business?
There is no road to the EU as the EU has run out of money and that is the real reason it’s not accepting anymore new members – it now has more countries with their hands out for help than members who earn money. What do you thing will happen to Croatia if it becomes a member? NOTHING because if you go “naked in the EU you will still be naked”.

Does anyone really believe that Montenegro's so-called 'independence' was a spontaneous and grassroots outpouring of desire among its people?

Look at a map.

While Serbs were busy worrying about Kosovo, which I understand in principle, their access to the sea was wrenched from them.

On a biter note Croatian tourist numbers these year are up over 20% from last year which was also one of the best years. The western Europeans ,Americans know who their friends are and will be spending their time and money in friendly Croatia [link] [link]

It should be left to the citizens of Serbia to vote on whether they want their country to become a full fledged member of the EU whether Kosovos status is recognized or not.End of story
