In the US if they want to have a parade they do and no one bothers them. In Serbia and throughout the Balkans you get ignorant hooligans who have nothing better to do than beat up and taunt people who are different than they are. I agree that this story specifically is not news worthy, but you cannot make the argument that discrimination in the west is more concerning.

Ok so a gay-pride parade is sufficient? Listen I live in Toronto where this parade is world-famous, and I am telling you harassment like this happens on a daily-basis AND no one even mentions it in the media. A country's or a cities stance on this "gay-pride-idea" has zero relevence towards the citizens who indeed think for themselves and have their own ideas.

Wake up.

Adding a little joy for lgbt people and supporters around the world: same sex marriages now starring, in NY! California to follow, soon, as well as europa europa. equal rights -- to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (vs unending attacks and hate and homophobia):

I notice how roberto is silent about the gay immigrant who was killed and burned in his city (San Francisco) last month.

"Discrimination against Gays is far more concerning in the West than in Serbia."

Where the hell do you get this idea from?? In the US if they want to have a parade they do and no one bothers them. In Serbia and throughout the Balkans you get ignorant hooligans who have nothing better to do than beat up and taunt people who are different than they are. so don't use that idiotic excuse to mitigate the dangers of homophobia in serbia or anywhere else.

What are you talking about?

I am simply stating the obvious. No one was hurt or killed, so calm down. Discrimination against Gays is far more concerning in the West than in Serbia. I understand, not all Serbs are tolerant but this doesn't give the media the right to exploit this one incident and make it seem national.

Smile buddy, no need to hate on everything.

This is not worthy of news, and I agree with some posters on this. Common thing in most weatern countries.

I assume b92 had nothing better to report.

Things like this happen daily in the West. Where I am in Canada this happens a lot but never talked about.

I guess this is another way to show Serbia's "dark-side". LOL

yes, this happens around the world, and is spoken about a LOT these days, especially in california but throughout the west.

so don't use that idiotic excuse to mitigate the dangers of homophobia in serbia or anywhere else.

"The 21-year-old, identified with his initials, was approached by three unknown men, who blocked his way and began to "shout and threaten using the most offensive homophobic curses", the NGO has said. "
