"Serbia now closer to EU candidacy"

Yeah Danilo, just like Bulgaria and Romania who were let in because they were totally prepared for it in every aspect, and they met ALL the conditions, right?? lol
Give me a break. The EU could let Serbia in tomorrow if they wanted to, but they don't, they want to use potential membership as leverage to squeeze them like a lemon. If Serbia is smart, they will show the EU the middle finger and stay out of that corrupt German run club, where only the big players benefit.

I'm very concerned that we are actually witnessing the beginning of troubled times in Serbia.

Many Serbs have a completely false idea of what's required for EU membership. They think they just need to recognize Kosovo, and over the indictees and that's that.

Most Serbs have no idea how far away their country is from being ready for EU membership.

I fear we will see a wave of discontent - "we handed them over, why aren't we in the EU yet"?

All serbia has to do now is recognize the independence of Kosova.

And make no mistake, there is no EU candidacy without recognizing the reality in the ground, and that is recognizing Kosova as an independent state.

I'm with Dragan on this subject. The EU is a bad idea for Serbia. I'm all for prosperity for Serbia and its people but the EU isn't it.

I live in one of the EU member states, and since then nothing much really changed to the good side, it only got worst!
