Why is the serbian orthodox church so nationalistic? Why can't other orthodox churches exist in montenegro? Is the serbian orthodox church opposed to Greek and Russian orthodox churches in montenegro too?

If you have to ask that question then you don't have a cloue and really should not be commenting on something you know NOTHING about.

"He is speaking Croatian,or Bosnian language for that matter."

Because Croats originally spoke a language closer to Slovenian and only due to Ljudevit Gaj (Croatian linguist) did they adopt the western dialect of Serbian as their language.
The others only speak a language which was first called Serbian.

delon,

Trouble reading English, delon?
I can't figure out why you would ask such a dumb question.
I never said any language was unique.
I simply asked the question, what language Lukšić will be speaking Serbian or this newly found language in Montenegro?

BTW... Lukšić, in his bio, does not claim to speak either Croatian or Bosnian.

I think Milo and friends are starting to regret this constant need to "highlight the differences" between "Serbs" and "Montenegrins" because this constant spotlight continues to emphasize the embarassing fact there is no important difference.

This in turn leads people (and Serbia generally) to think about "why bother having a seperate state then?"

Truly an own goal Milo... you should have simply said 10 years back "we Montenegrins are brothers and allies with the Serbs forever, we speak Serbian and are traditionally SPC adherents, but like Austria and Cyprus - we have a tradition of being politically independent and that is what we would like again if our citizens agree at a referendum" ....

I would bet if you laid it out in a constructive, matter of fact way like that ... Serbia would happily accept independent Montenegro (as we were before 1918).

Instead you are running around inventing languages, religions ... truly a joke.

What makes you think that Montenegro's P. Minister is speaking Serbian.
He is speaking Croatian,or Bosnian language for that matter.
Serbian is not unik language,or mother of Slavic language,it is only sub Slav.

Russian Church Reacts to Djukanovic Statement

Ex-Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic's statement in support of an independent church in his country has prompted reaction from the Russian Orthodox church.

The Russian Orthodox Church indicated that Orthodox Churches around the world would not change their position of not recognising the Montengrin Church.

Russian Orthodox Church representative Nikolai Balashov says that Orthodox Churches have absolutely no doubt that the "so-called" Montenegrin Orthodox Church is noncanonical, schismatic organization.

What a fool - fact is Igor has realised the religious sect Milo created is floundering and is a joke just as is the whole "Montenegrin is not Serbian" project!

SPC should be more agreable - WHY?

"Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople"

I dream of "Constantinople" but, to my sorrow, the map reads Istanbul. Which is why the road to recognition starts in Athens or Moscow. Even the popes of Rome think that all they need to do is convert the Patriarch in Istanbul, but tis not so. He is only "first among equals"

HAHAHA, what a joke. What this article fails to mention is that the so-called "Montenegrin Orthodox Church" cannot get recognition from all of the Orthodox churches of the world not just the Serbian Orthodox Church. Which is not surprising since igor's master, milo, is a cigarette smuggling mafioso ATHEIST! The Orthodox world no longer tolerates state imposed churches - milo's last drug trip has blanked the last twenty years out of his brain. I can imagine the Patriarch turning to one of his bishops after meeting igor and asking "who is this idiot?"

During a recent congress of the Milo Đukanović-led ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) a project was promoted, with the goal of creating a "united Orthodox Church in Montenegro".

-- There was a "united Orthodox Church in Montenegro". It's called the SPC. The fact that Milo and others aren't even engaging in proper protocol of petitioning the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople for recognition, as the Ukranians and Estonians have done, shows how clueless they are in pursuing this clearly political manner.
