Ex-Yugoslavs went thru a hard school in the years before and during the wars of 90's but there are still an astounding amount of politicians and their support groups who learned nothing. On each side of fences.

When I prepare younger journalists for their trips to the Balkans I remind them that a great number of people in Ex-Yugoslavia have no interest or call for truth, self-reflection nor self-criticism. For these people their own stories constitute the truth, and the stories of people of other ethnic / political groups constitute a pack of lies.

One can't escape the fact that in too many people honour exists in a very perverted form. In a form that has rolled it over to its antonym.

Living in denial Mr Dodo will not free you from responsibility that you have towards your people first then the region as a whole. Admitting the truth before victms (and your own nationals,)apologizing and paying reparation is your MORAL duty not denying or inventing stories that you think you can counterbalance the genocide.(Creative Rationality, 13 July 2011 15:22)

Of all the bad actors in office in the Balkans -- and there are lots -- dodik is the absolute worst. he should have been removed from office years ago; the High Rep's office shows an utter lack of courage and integrity in allowing this guy and his pals to stay in power. Shame on them, but shame on us for facilitating them.

the reparations will have to come from serbia, where the aggression began. and in some cases from croatia. the bosnian serb radicals (and bos croat extremists)were basically proxies for serbia and croatia, and everyone knew it and knows it. the whole show about the "bosnian serb army" was just a fiction, and milosevic laughed about it -- yet people bought that fiction.

as for the reparations, i am specifically interested in their going directly to the remaining victims and family members, not to govt's, not to politicians or other shysters, but to the people directly.

thanks, CR.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia-Herzegovina had no valid reason to condemned Republic of Srpska President Milorad Dodik’s recent statement.

President Milorad Dodik said that “Serbian people in Bosnia-Herzegovina do not believe in Muslims’ good intentions”, and People are entitled to their Opinions.

Bosnians think that it “alarming and frightening” that People should or could have their own beliefs and opinions, and that statement by the Bosnians confirms what President Milorad Dodik has said.

The Bosnians claim that they have obligation to protect the rights and interests of its Muslim believers, but they do not say that they have any obligations to protect rights and interests of Non-Muslims.

That is what President Milorad Dodik is endeavouring to do, because he has the obligation to protect the rights and interests of all the citizens of the Republic of Srpska.

The Bosnians are Totally Wrong to consider President Milorad Dodik’s statement to be chauvinistic, anti-Islamic, and Islamophobic, and this does not incite hatred toward any religious group

The Bosnian Serbs wrongly claim that President Milorad Dodik’s responsibility to represent those who voted for him as “inciting hatred toward more than a billion Muslims in the world.

The Bosnian Serbs claim that President Milorad Dodik is denying that a global religious community has good intentions is a highlight of racism and fascism”, is Slander and it indicates they are not seeking European Values.

It is as preposterous as accusing Muammar Gaddafi’s accusation that some Arabs and Muslims do not have good intentions toward West Libya.

It is as preposterous as accusing Muammar Gaddafi’s of inciting hatred toward more than a billion Muslims in the world and denying that a global religious community has good intentions is a highlight of racism and fascism toward Arabs and Muslims.

I think that the European Union should talk to the Bosnians who are Serbs, and tell them that Racism cannot apply in this situation.

Dodik said that “Serbian people in Bosnia-Herzegovina do not believe in Muslims’ good intentions”.

How dare he say something like that!!!!
All muslims in Bosnia knows that all muslims worldwide ONLY have good intentions, specially against Serbs in Bosnia...
He must appologize imedeately otherwise Bakir and the muslim politicians in Sarajevo will demand that the Duke of Bosnia (HR) will remove him at once!

Dodik said that “Serbian people in Bosnia-Herzegovina do not believe in Muslims’ good intentions”.

And his point is proven by their reaction. Serbians are still waiting for Mulsim crimes against Serbs to be investigated. When they start doing that then they can prove him wrong otherwise his point is correct.
