"There were crimes committed around Srebrenica, including the murder of thousands of Serbian civilians, but there was never a “genocide.” I am pleased that B92 now appears to accept this."

The ICTY and ICJ both ruled that the Srebrenica massacre has been a genocide, according to their definitions. Maybe yours are different, and 'only' some 8000 killed male persons (killed because of their ethnicity/religion) are not a genocide. Calling it simply a 'crime' doesn't fit at all, if I steal a car it's a 'crime', too. The happenings in Srebrenica you should call at least a massacre.

Seems like some people only call it a genocide when a whole population gets extinguished. Not even the Germans in WW-II managed that.

“16th anniversary of Srebrenica crime”

“16 years since the RS forces killed some 8,000 Bosniaks”

There were crimes committed around Srebrenica, including the murder of thousands of Serbian civilians, but there was never a “genocide.” I am pleased that B92 now appears to accept this.

It is also not denied by anyone in Republika Srpska that Moslems were “killed” after they abandoned Srebrenica; the issue is about how many were killed and how they met their death.

The Serbian side say about 3,000 Moslem soldiers were killed in battles as they broke out of Srebrenica and marched to Tuzla. The Moslems say that none of their troops were killed in battle but, instead, that 8,000 were rounded up and shot.

Currently, forensic evidence suggests that no more an 3,500 bodies have been found (not all of which are Moslems) and common sense would tell us that some Moslems must have been killed as they battled their way through heavily fortified Serbian positions around Srebrenica.

I think the Srebrenica “Massacre” stories has had its day. The defence teams for Dr Karadzic and General Mladic have amassed compelling evidence that the whole story is as factual as Saddam Hussein’s mythical Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Oric and his murdering gang killed Serbian women and children in villages surrounding Srebrenica while having UN protection.

Serbians on the other hand provided free passage to women and children.

"They were killed in July 1995, the youngest among them 11 years old."

Having the latest comments by some Serbs here in mind talking about 'only trained males in fighting age have been killed', I have to say that they seem to have African standards.

B92,

The title should be read as "16th anniversary of Srebrenica GENOCIDE marked". We all know that it is internationally judged as GENOCIDE.

It not a simple crime it is an organised state terror the result of which was GENOCIDE.

MAY GOD HELP THE VICTIMS and their families, and punish culprits.
