Depends on what you called 'failure'. Yes, I think YU was less rotten than other eastern communist countries, but only a bit. It starts with YUGO cars and ends with the state of the buildings and factories.

"If they want to be a social party, then they should be renamed to "partija socialnih ideja" or something like that.

A matter of name. The 'socialist international' organization is formed by mostly social democratic parties and parties who recognized, as I said in the previous posting, that the socialist/communist experiment has failed.

Dačić: We wants our tens percents! Yes! We wants it now! (Gollum voice)

It's a pity the SPS wasn't dissolved right after 2000, its members banned from politics and ended the final chapter of these communist offspring's.

Analyst, a worker managed economy/yugoslav socialism did not fail. Please keep that western rhetoric out of the discussion.

If they want to be a social party, then they should be renamed to "partija socialnih ideja" or something like that. They are not socialist in any way or form. Hence, quazi socialist. For example... Canada's New Democratic Party is a social democratic party. Yet, they are much closer to socialism than what our quazi-socialist party is.

Agree with you Lazar, They've sold out their voters by joining this Frankenstein coalition.

"There is no way that a socialist party would support EU integration and the free market like they do. they;'re just quazisocialists."
(Lazar, 9 July 2011 16:44)

Socialists from nowadays are not compareble to the socalled 'socialists' from the good old times of communism behind the iron curtain. They realized that 40 years of 'socialism' miserably failed and brought only poverty to the countries and people, compared to the evil west. So their place is to be a social party within a free market economy.

They probably won't make it to the next parliament, which is nice. :) I mean come on, they do not stand for socialism, they are not what Slobo made the socialist party into... they're basically a spineless clown party. There is no way that a socialist party would support EU integration and the free market like they do. They basically sold out their voters. It's a shame, and for that they will only do worse in the next election. Afterall, all polls say they will do worse. Meanwhile, Dacic can go about claiming how his party is popular and is a big hit or whatever he was saying earlier... they;'re just quazisocialists.
