… and what about the atheists amongst us? There should be an atheist chaplain too!

I’m curious to know just where you live. Because I find your statement incredible as if no western army supplies chaplaincy services to its troops. Try the US, UK, France, Australia and so on.

If you are an atheist then you don’t attend any religious services on a Sunday but enjoy you day out on the beach. No one twists your arm to attend.

Only in Srbia you will hear of such things.
Agreement between church&army!!!???

Try your great ally the United Sates of Windbags for starters. Where are you people from? A cave?

Agim, all armed forces have chaplains so Serbia going down this road is nothing unusual.
Are you really that clueless that you don't see that? "Only in Serbia"?
No, no, take a look at this:

There are chaplains in the American armed forces and Australian armed forces, so Bob are you equally surprised here too?

Why is it that this happens all over the world but when Serbia tries to introduce it Albanians are quick to ridicule it?
Anything negative said about Serbia is the goal here I presume.

There is nothing unusual about this. Most non-communist countries have arrangements for military chaplains who serve the spiritual and counseling needs of those soldiers in their armed forces who are religious believers. For an example, see --

The soldiers who are not believers have no need for chaplains, but there are other kinds of services available to them, such as counseling by military psychologists.

I find it amazing in this day and age that this kind of thing is needed.

The origins of the universe and the origins of life are explained so well and so clearly by the massive amount that has been learned through scientific investigation. The enhancement of knowledge has been incredible. Explanations that depend on a deity have been pretty well debunked by the realities of the universe.

There seems to be a primitive streak in people that makes them need to believe in a god of some kind. The problem is that there are several religions available to choose - apparently each would deny the legitimacy of the others. The fact that religion is linked to the nasty politics that has divide the Balkans does nothing to persuade me that there is any thing right in religion. It could be that if all religions have chaplains available then there is an argument that somehow religious differences are less important, but I suspect that the minority chaplains will be seen as an evil necessity rather than a sign of positive integration.
