I visited Greece back in 2000, one thing ( among several others )that made corious was how a grek farmer with about 10 acres of peaches or 50-100 sheeps could afford a albanian/bulgarian/rumanian etc.. on paycheck year round?! didn't make sense to me but hey I thought as long as they can afford it who cares.
Looking at the current greek financial crisis it makes perfect sense, borrowing money and living beyond your means everything is possible for as long as it goes.
No need to blame the system or anything else.... work is not shame, get back to work and leave bars, clubs, caffes because not only in greece but in all balkan countries caffes are full of people all day.

thanks!

What say of a person (proletarian) that borrow Money and then buy middle class clothes and party like rich till ends the sum borrowed and then start cry like a Spanish pasionaria and demonize the system that “obviously” protect the riches and their cruelty against the poor that are the only that “really works”, the money that they want receive could be used for education, investments for self employment on creating new businesses etc etc and this money very inflated with high percentage of interests will only serve for richs live with no work mocking of the poor working for nothing?

What's wrong with the financial euthanasia??

Greek economy is dead. And this crisis will leave on the Greek economy huge traces of trauma.

As Leonidis pointed well: EU is giving € to Greece so the Greek gov could pay back to EU banks the loans that has taken. The EU banks will get their principals and interests back while leaving the Greek taxpayer to pay back the EU and IMF the loan for decades, reducing to minimum teh Greek capacity to invest and generate wealth for the next generation.

But hey you have more warplanes and tanks than Turkey :)

The charitable EU are prepared to help Greece in order to save their own Banks and not the people of Greece.
Greece could even have a third or fourth, bailout which cannot disguise the fact that monetary union is fundamentally flawed, with zero chance that the weaker members can become as competitive as those at the core. The end result will still be a disguised default in order to delay the contagion effect on the rest of the periphery.

The entire EU project from Maastricht on had no democratic legitimacy. The process of obtaining public support for the original EU constitution was a total failure. With that record of democratic deficit, it never had a chance. Good riddance to oblivion.
