It's not about lying. German MPs, once they are elected, are free to say and do whatever they want. The official state policy can be different.
(Top, 23 June 2011 18:55)
Could that be official state policy like "Kosovo is an independent and sovereign nation" like Germany is one of the biggest contributors to Kosovo, like Germany maintains the highest level of Kfor and Eulex personnel in Kosovo.
I think the official state policy has been crystal clear from day 1.

The EU is not a sinking ship. It is a huge economic block with a few problem nations at the periphery. Taken in its entirety the EU provides a powerful common legal basis for trade and a coherent approach to inter-state cooperation.

The EU may change shape in the next few years, but not on the scale or following the model demonstrated in Yugoslavia. The reasons for joining the EU are not political - they are economic - but as it happens, the political direction of the EU is based on cooperation not on warfare.

It is probably within the EU's capability to absorb a few more problem countries - mainly from within the Balkans. There are potentially huge economic benefits for Serbia within the EU. If Serbia runs its economy well and integrates fully with the EU, the open trade will provide a considerable improvement to the standard of living of the average Serbian worker.

The main driving force for people in Serbia is not political - it is economic. That is why the EU is the only sensible path open to any politician (apart that is from those whose nationalistic politics would inevitably drag Serbia back to the kind of economic mess that Milosevic bought on the country).

So Someone is not telling the truth.
Who could it be?
The Germans have nothing to gain by lying.
(John, 23 June 2011 12:34)

The Germans would 'gain' if Belgrade shortly threw in the towel because recognition was 'inevitable', but then again the Serbs have spat in the face of 'inevitable' in the past and come out victorious, though at a very, very heavy cost. Ever heard of 'inat'?

Serbia knows that we must solve the issue of Kosovo before joining the EU, but on the other hand, that solution cannot be a recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo," he continued.

Once again nobody cares if you recognize Kosovo De Jure or not.The message is: Stop being the bully and a continous source of destability in the Balkans. You will not be a member of EU while you doing whatever you can to make Kosovo Albanians lives as miserable as you can.Serbia will be a EU member only after Kosovo becomes a UN member.

Its another hoop that is being held up for Serbia for it to jump through to get its imaginary treat behind the curtain and what a treat in the Serbs imaginations. They dont care what order you jump through the hoops as long as you do it to show what a good obedient Serbia you are. Later they will work on order and obeying commands.

There are no such saying im afraid, you must have mixed it up with something Albanian which you seem to be more familiar with than anything even remotely connected to Swedish sayings, culture and traditions...

Djelic needs to stop stalling, its becoming quite stupid now as people are not stupid enough to believe him. Even if the German condition isnt official it is an echo to what will be expected by the EU collectively. This pathetic government is in no position to bargain with the EU, seeing as it is them that want to join the EU, therefore they cant be calling the shots. It is now time for Tadic's regime to make their decision, whether they actually give a damn about Kosovo as the heartland of Serbia, or whether they want to jump onto the sinking ship that is the EU, completely losing Kosovo and many important aspects within Serbia, be it industry or military independence.
