They also found that the Albanian was the legal owner of the plot of land next to the church.

Of course the owner of that land next to the said church can build anything he wants on his/her property, includinga high rise building. What is wrong with Serb clergy, have they gone bananas?
Bunch of morons.

I’m not sure that stupidity is a strong enough term. An Albanian is building a high rise building? What does this Albo think he is in New York?

High rise building?
Agim, I don't think the owner can build whatever he likes on his property. Prizren must have some sort of rudimentary zoning ordinance which defines the use of land. If they are building another church, that is a complex enough building to warrant structural drawings which in return must recommend shoring of existing adjacent structures.
"The Serbian Church is demanding international reaction" - They should demand a reaction from the municipality of Prizren, maybe the mayor.

Agim,

If it were up to people like yourself this Serbian Orthodox Church (or is it a Kosovar Church?) would have been leveled to the ground in 2004 so of course you do not care. It would have been a sign of "good neighborly relationship" if the owner of the land next to the church together with the church had evaluated the soil conditions and the foundation of the church, which of course is old and more susceptible to changes and consequently more prone to damage. It will be interesting to see if the Albanian owner of the lot was the same owner before the Serbs were driven out of the previously predominant Serb neighborhood (so maybe he conveniently took it over when it suited him). The way I see it this Albanian is just doing this to agitate the few remaining brave Serbs in Prizren and it is likely that the so-called new "church" will in fact be a mosque and so it is likely that it is build next to the Serbian Orthodox Church to make some kind of statement to express the fake dominance of Islam towards all other religions. So the clergy have not gone nuts and your cheap shot insult towards them says everything about you, a full-time agitator who apparently has nothing else to do.

I must say, this is an article for the structural engieners journal the 'party wall' section, albait everything is politics in Balkans.

Scenarios:-

1. Undermining foundations of the Church, wow! the intentions of the Albanian appear to have been pure evil and fundamnetaly politicaly motivated, to demolish the church enitrely (which would have ended up in his plot! he didn't think it through)/ or

2. He simply didn't know what he was doing! as most of the Balkan builders operate in a hugly un-controlled environment, read 'volatile'.

3. We like blaming someone in Blakans, so lets not blame the poor albanian builder, who has in fact said 'it fell on its own' hence blaming Gravity!
