Wan said that he had been charged with heading a delegation consisting of over 100 Chinese entrepreneurs, which was the biggest economic deputation to visit Serbia in years...
"In this century, we will be witnesses of the moment when China will become the number one global economic power," said Jeremić.

This is exactly what we need. Russia has its uses but China will be the dominant economic power in just a few years. I am very glad that Serbia is getting so much interest from China as we are their true partners in the region. Both Russia and China let Serbia down over the past couple of decades so they have the option of providing true support to us now and keeping a strong ally in the heart of Europe or they can give up on us and have us fully integrate into the West and NATO, thus becoming their enemy.
I think the option is fairly clear and Serbia will raise to becoming the regional power. The time to join an economic power is during its emergence and not after its peak. Those who align themselves with the US and EU now, and unless they are blind, should see the writing on the wall already.
Power has been shifting eastwards for some time and there are no sign of that stopping. The balance needs to be kept right and Serbia is in a position to take advantage of both east and west, if we play our cards right.
