"states with explosive social-political situation", that may be becuase Serbs are willing to fight for their ideals, where russians don't have the heart do do anything or even have ideals.

"backward economic system", really? russia's economy is run by criminals, can you get any more backward than that

"low standard of living", oddly it's a higher standard than most russians enjoy. rather an ironic statement from the russians

"rise in crime rate", well yes whan compared to the russian standard of "always has been a high crime rate"

There is no betrayal here by Russia, Deki.

Its just the truth, Tadic's government has failed to handle the Serbian economy and quite frankly the lives of Serbs in general.
(SCP UK, 17 June 2011 15:00)

OK, here is the list.

1) Does Tadic government control all territory of the country?
2) Is there any sign of insurgency in Kosovo (as Serbia's province)?
3) Is the inflation over a reasonable figure?
4) Is the infrastructure functioning as it should?
5) Is the black economy the dominant form of income?
6) What is the satisfaction factor of the citizens (all of them, Albanians in Kosovo included) with the government in Belgrade?
7) Is the government in Belgrade capable of securing the country's territorial integrity and the borders?

Now if 1)-7) do show some anomalies... than the Russia is 100% right. It's a realistic assessment. The government is weak to an unbelievable degree. I can't imagine in Russia or United States that tractor drivers will block the road if they feel fancy doing that. In nanoseconds OMON or National Guard will be there and will give a lesson of "democracy". In Serbia the police was walking between the lanes and joked as the tractor drivers gave Shljivovica to other drivers. In the States everyone would be arrested... except me. I was the only who refused the drink. Others would be arrested because of disturbing the traffic or because of DUI. Or both.

Now not everything is bleak, there is some hope, once maybe things will improve. At last, some decent stuff, too - that's the car between Pogradec and Tirana:

Its just the truth, Tadic's government has failed to handle the Serbian economy and quite frankly the lives of Serbs in general. Its no surprise that there is often unrest, whether it be ordinary people angry about national issues like the neglection of Kosovo or the handing over of Mladic, or the fact that the trade unions are always up in arms becauce the government is doing such a poor job at handling industry.

Shocking, as you say.

Just browse the www.raileurope.net.
Hint: don't click on Kosovo, Mongolia, North Korea, Kazakhstan or Serbia flags. Click on some flags left and atop, the countries / regions are in alphabetic order. You will see something, I promise you. The best-looking part of the series of pictures is a collection of (presumably) stolen taxi Mercedes cars in front of a station. In that part of the world a Mercedes is a commodity - if it breaks down no need to fix it, cheaper to order an other one to steal.

Hi, Ataman, nice to see you kept some photographic reminders of the American South. Boy, wasn't the world surprised during Katrina to see that the US isn't all Central Park West and tidy suburbs! If Louisiana had been under Communism for 40 years like some countries - Albania, say - you'd expect it, but it was part of the richest country in the world! Shocking, as you say.

This is funny coming from Russia - a poor underdeveloped country
(Hakala, 16 June 2011 19:38)

Thanks for the concern - but the worst-looking and poorest country I ever seen is not called "Russia", not even "Paraguay" or "Mongolia". Want to see some shocking pictures?

Yes we are complicated on the one hand we seem to pretend to want to try the Radulovic's, the Karic's and the Mira Markovic's of the world.

They live nicely in Spain, Russia and Russia respectively and in private we are happy with this. Either that or Russia doesn't care about apprehending suspected criminals on the run from Serbia - both explanations are negative.

This is funny coming from Russia - a poor underdeveloped country that can't pacify it's own separatist republics and has to rely on foreign countries to provide it with modern technology. Besides exporting natural resources, women, vodka, and weapons the Russians and falling further and further behind in economic and social development. It won't be long fore China, India, and Brasil achieve greater global influence then Russia at which point Russia will be the has-been of global has-beens.

Nice, the world of "complications" so much closer to Vuk and his other wolfs. With friends like that... never mind continue.

Out of these had chance to observe Georgians/Abkhazians, Israelis, Koreans. And Serbs, of course.

Russia is 100% right. These are very complicated people to deal with, often huge pain in the neck. You ask them goose-step - they instead step on your feet and twist your nose. No wonder, Serbs, Koreans, Georgians, Israelis have zero achievement in sport and science. Unlike others, who always know how and when follow the leader.
