MPs discuss decentralization proposal

Patriotic parties in Serbia such as the DSS and SRS need to act quickly on getting aboard with decentralizing Serbia. The patriotic way to decentralize Serbia would be to break it down into smaller parts so that not one unit has a large percentage of Serbian land like Vojvodina..where they can act on their own.

Break Vojvodina up into 3 parts, central Serbia into 4. We will wait on the final status of Kosovo and Republika Srpska before we act there. However what we have to work with now should be broken up and have economical autonomy from Belgrade. In return, Belgrade and Vojvodina will not need to subsidize the less developed parts of Serbia and there will be no Belgrade bureaucracy holding up progress in these parts.

Making cities such as Novi Sad, Nis & Kragujevac into vibrant regional capitals is true decentralization. Moving key government institutions to these areas would also be real decentralization. Vojvodina is far too big to be in charge of their own affairs since Serbia is not a big country. Decentralization would appeal to the farmers who are protesting and is a step forward for our country. Why the patriotic parties have not gotten on this agenda sooner is beyond me. But Dinkic may be on to something here so it is really time to make this into a patriotic issue.
