People across towns and cities in Syria took to the streets in protest after Friday prayers, chanting slogans against President Bashar al-Assad and in support of Jisr al-Shughur residents.

Syria under the Assads has always been repressive and evil. It is based on only one thing, retaining power at any cost. The economy is collapsing, only those profiting directly from Iranian subsidies can live decently.. no point in the geopolitics of the situation, they need a decent honest government which cares for their fates.

I think the Syrian uprising has probably gone past the point of no return because people are no longer scared of tyrant Assad. The problem that i see with the Syrian uprising is that it's probably going to end in the same way as the Egyptian one. There could be some changes in personnel at the top with the state apparatus remaining intact.
