Metrod,

My assessments of roberto from frisco are a direct result of his chronic condescending and racist comments, his insults, personal attacks and selective prejudices. His recent rant about de-NAZI-fication of serbian society was intolerable.

NO, Metrod, my assessments will stop when roberto from frisco stops.

Roger7,
Come down to earth. Your rant has nothing to do with the story.
Quit accusing Frisco of hatred. Hatred is spewing out of your mouth.
Seriously, grow up.

"The UNS stressed that Kovačević had was sacked by Ringier Chairman Michael Ringier personally, even though the editor was previously supported in his sharp criticism of the Serbian authorities."

This sentence is funny, too. Of course, a serious and professional journalist can (and should) observe and criticize politicians and the government. But praising an alleged war criminal is not in-line with standards for a European newspaper.

Michael Ringier today denied that the firing of the editor was political, saying that it was in line with the company's position that "circulation and business success cannot be built on tolerance of war crimes".

Simply and easy. Is it so hard to understand? If the editor in chief is praising Mladic as a hero and is pitying his arrest instead of condemning his numerous war crimes, he should better not work for a newspaper belonging to a renowned international media outlet which has some basic democratic standards.

If, in Serbia, it's considered as 'political pressure' if people expect mass media not to celebrate an alleged war criminal, I cannot help, sorry.

What a great opportunity!!!
I think the frustrated wanna-be journalist roberto frisco should apply for the position.
He could spew his personal attacks and nasty trash, continue to promote hatred AND live in the Balkans, too. Maybe he could even spearhead the de-NAZI-fication of Serbian society as he regurgitates time and time again.

He could leave his middle school job in the US and become a REAL journalist. He wouldn't have to wait to get hired as the American advisor (as he claims) to his friend who is going to enter the Bosnian Govt.
I have concerns that his interview will be a disaster ... his air of superiority; the condescending attitude will be his downfall.
Can he restrain himself and not display his ultra racist serbia-hater mentality?

This firing is an absolutely outrageous act based on direct political pressure by Boris Tadic Tito! This man of Communist roots thinks he can snuff out all opposition by calmly stating his desires. He is a very dangerous person for the Serbian citizens as he portrays himself as a Western-style liberal democrat, but in reality he is a believer of "hidden authoritarianism", a form of governance being espoused by his idols in Brussels and Washington. He uses his elected office to pressure the higher-ups that have their fingers pressed on everything in Serbia; he even has the ear of foreigners like Ringier. This is media censorship that reminds of not only the Communists (granted, their pressure was more expressed), but also of people like Richard Nixon and Islamic terror-pressure in the EU, particularly in Britain and Holland.
