Yes, indeed. But who ventures into that adventure be warned: without revealing much all I can say I tried honestly and it was pretty much a one-way street. Kind of like a deaf person using sign language to communicate with a blind.

Or like a Zulu talking in Gaellic to a Guaraní.

Everyone was warned, I wash my hands.

Ooops, my bad but welcome to the club. However, it's my wife who was among the first 10 in OKTV (at Fazekas-Berzsenyi level) - I did not make it. At one point I will probably quietly move in a corner and let the "Atawoman" and "Atakids" deal with B92.

The main reason I am not doing it is that some will file animal cruelty charges against them.

On the influence of small EU member states voting in Europe, normally via blocks things have changed and Lisbon has made it arguably easier than before for such blocks to block changes being steam rollered by the larger countriesespecially since the EU has enlarged, the balance of the voting system one of the main reasons for holding up agreement on Lisbon. Via Wikipedia):

Lisbon from 13.10.2014

"A blocking minority requires—in addition to not meeting one of the two conditions above—that at least 4 countries (or, if not all countries participate in the vote, the minimum number of countries representing more than 35% of the population of the participating countries, plus one country) vote against the proposal. Thus, there may be cases where an act is passed, even though the population condition is not met. This precludes scenarios where 3 populous countries could block a decision against the other 24 countries.

Note that the Lisbon rules eradicated the use of "artificial" voting weights. This move, first proposed in the Constitution, is based on the size of populations and, at the same time, acknowledges the smaller member states' fears of being overruled by the larger countries."

A couple of days ago I saw documentary from the Swedish television SVT2 regarding the suspected war criminal Mladic, and most of the Dutch who participated on finding Mladic said the Serbian Government protected him and they went so far to provoke them by letting Mladic eat on a resturant less then 100m from their position. Quite frankly only a fool would buy the story suddenly Mladic was cought, most seem to understand he was in the Serbian Government possession since day 1, only to be used as a joker.

Likewise I'm also capable of appreciation, love and compassion but I doubt these are properties that belong in here thanks to B92 radicalization of this site.--(miri, 8 June 2011 20:40)

miri -- you just keep blogging here, as often as you wish. and if they "edit" you, come back w/ three posts. if they attack you, and you know they will, just double up on yr efforts. get yr frnds and allies to write in. never let these low-lifes intimidate you, regardless of ethnicity, i don't give a sh-t.

i knew and told frnds ahead of time: if b92 publishes our link(s), they will attack us big-time, and i don't mean w/ substance. and there are some REAlly nasty pieces running around here, that is no exaggeration.

but what is the alternative? to hide the truth out of fear, from intimidation? of moving away, because you get sick of low-life attacks, of unending low-life vomitus?

we know, you and i, that there is no level playing field here, that we have to work harder, and field many more attacks than the other side. that's just a fact of life. so it makes it essential to try that much harder, to excel in our work, in our critiques. but we are needed here, god knows! jonny used to say "as a corrective." are you back jonny? i hope so.

dissidents and minorities must not be intimidated away, we must remain strong and steadfast. never let them intimidate you!! free and responsible speech, that is our goal, and we will not rest until we achieve it. and yes, the struggle for free speech, for freedom, for the truth, it strengthens me, and miri, it should strengthen you too. Never give in -- never give up! never.

Some book recommendations (assuming people still read out there?):

--Endgame -- the betrayal and fall of srebrenica... (david rohde)
--War Hospital (also on srebrenica)(dr sheri fink)
--Madness visible, a memoir of war (janine de giovani)(wars in kosovo, bosnia)

i also just finished 2 strong bios:

--Milosevic (adam leBor)
--Tito... (richard west)

and just picked up 2 interesting books in the balkans, 1st in albanian, 2nd in serbo-croatian, both w/ a bit of english:

1--Shpirti i dermuar: dhuna serbe ndaj femres shqiptare ne kosove (1997-99) (naxhije doci)
2--progoni i politicki procesi u sandzaku

the first we picked up in pristina. the (female) author was sitting w/ a group of "VIPs" and i went over to say hi to adem dimaci, and showed him our latest report. she wanted me to have the book, despite my VERY minimal albanian. the 2nd is by a frnd of a frnd, also a very sharp, funny young journalist. with an edge. despite my limited S-C-B...

http://www.b92.net/companyprofile/maticCV.php

B92 management seem to be still the same.

Given your credentials, I tend to believe you interviewed Pope and Dalai Lama the next day.
Tell you why. Because reading your essays spread over the 'NET I wonder, what serious media can grant you an interview even with a cleaning lady. And it's not because these wold be "anti-serb". It's because after even a superficial reading one sees a maniac behind the words.

And you still ow a proof that you do work for Blic who interviewed the head of Serbian team of Belgrade-Pristina talks.

One more thing.™

The fact, that the latest writing of "Robert-o" was published by B92 kind of defies the content of that writing.
Unless, of course, "Robert-o" had interview with Elvis, too - and Elvis sat next to Lenin while talking to VerOn.

Obsession with own fame is crazy. Giving out all own personal data and allowing people track down marriage/divorce records is even more crazy. Not speaking about LGBT connections and what implications such things do have to divorces. Don't want to repeat myself - but why don't you tell openly your ATM card PIN codes, your social security number, mother's maiden name and your blood group?

That's what is called "clinical case"... But of course it's impossible to prove to a "clinical case" that it's a clinical case.

-When attaman "vomits" here 5 times a day his autistic jokes, you consider that to enrichen B92 pages.

When I write an opinion, as serious as I can, on how one sees Serbia, albeit against your beliefs, you consider that a threat which should be censored.
Some journalism you are running here!!
(miri, 8 June 2011 16:19)--

Yes, miri, and it isn't just him and his vomitus, but others as well. they are barfing out a mile a minute -- while we are writing analysis and critique. they are highlighted, we are subject to "editing" and censor. oh what ever went so horribly wrong?

i have been discussing this media for many years. once upon a time, about 5 years ago, 3 of us came to b92 and interviewed veron matic. one was american (me), one serb, one ethnic albanian. we were generally very impressed with what we saw and heard -- esp.ly b'92's classy headquarters, which they had fairly recently moved into, acc to veron.

i was ready to write something quite positive and sympathetic based on my years of reading b92, the interview, and the book they gave us (engl for me) about b-92's history. it was fascinating and quite inspiring.

we were also quite impressed by the gal, not a regular b92 employee at least at that time, who interpreted for us (for me.)she was not only very pretty, she was smart, incredibly well educated, and her knowledge of english and english literature impeccable. we were hoping that my belgrade frnd might end up dating her, but it never happened.

soon after the intv, i wrote to thank her, and she responded (i am paraphrasing): "thank you for caring about us serbs and our side. we are so tired of all the lies and exaggerations against us, like saying that 7,000 people died at srebrenica..." in other words, she too turned out to be a hard core nationalist, historical revisionist. i was quite hurt and shocked at the time. not my frnds: what did you expect, what do you expect, who cares what she says?? but somehow it was a peek into the other side of b-92, some kind of omen into what was to come.

i have several frnds now who hate and detest this site. i can't even discuss it with them, so emotional are they in their revulsion.

as for my bosnian frnd, the "graduate" of omarska, i just spoke with him this week: "I don't know what happened with them. they used be be a good news source, i really don't know what happened..." and he follows the balkan media closely, in their language(serbo-croatian.)

acc. to Sonia, b-92 is now under new ownership (how would we know?) which might or might not imply new changes, new openness? that's her slant.

personally, i have been fighting ag. political censorship here for years! and it has been so arbitrary and capricious. mostly targeting dissidents and minorities, but not only. but it is just so bizarre and outrageous that they promote the trash talk -- the vomitus -- and then we have to fight for each and every sentence. actually it is sick, and it is immoral, and it is also frankly embarrassing.

we need to continue to demand freedom of speech -- RESponsible freedom of speech. we need to continue to demand transparency and diversity.
we need to demand less editorializing within the "news" stories. and so much more...

but anyway, same ole same ole. i do wish to apologize to you, miri.
not that they give a d-mn what i think. but in the name of responsible journalists around the world. it ain't the easiest profession, to say the least. not the easiest route to wealth, fame or happiness. but it does imply integrity and a willing path towards the truth, and that is something that has been missing from these pages all too ofter.

This awaits all small states that join the EU. Small states will be marginalized and will lose their sovereignty. Matters in the EU are decided by big countries or big blocks of interests like catholics who listen to the pope in Rome. And when Turkey joins, they will instantly become one of the biggest blocks.

Aleks

Normally you either laugh or cry. Unusually I am doing both. I frankly don't give a F**k. As pointed out by others on this thread, this is a) temporary, b) a reflection of dutch domestic backlash over Srebrenica.

Other salient points are the internal dynamics of the EU where the small states are continually jockying against the will of the large states. This may be the Netherlands last great 'Hurrah!'.

As to war crime that those not stopping them are equal to those that commit them is false. It is though a crime in international law to deliberately not use your influence or power if you have reasonable knowledge that war crimes are likely to be committed. If I recall correctly, this is why Serbia was not found guilty of genocide in Bosnia (re: Sreb) but guilty of "not preventing" crimes in Bosnia. This point of international law does not seem to apply to those great powers who flounce around the world bombing the hell out of foreign countries though. The West's foreign actions have now cost the lives of almost two million civilians since 1990, at least 500,000 due to draconian sanctions on Iraq and over 1 million since 2003 as a 'by product'. The remainder is made up by the little wars that the West sponsored until the 'right side' won.

So far it is only Germany that has embodied the character of Lady MacBeth, forever trying to wash invisible blood off her hands. The great bombers of late (or should that be recent times?) have no moral center or sould so they could not suffer such a mental breakdown due to guilt? Rather like vampires...

--Chairman of the Dutch Parliament Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Henk Jan Ormel assessed earlier that, taking into account that Mladić was in the Hague Tribunal detention unit, it was time for the Dutch parliament to show good will as well--

If anyone outside the Balkans understand about mladic and srebrenica, it is the dutch. and the dutch are not easy targets for outside pressure and intimidation -- they remember srebrenica all too clearly; they also remember ww2. in case anyone has forgotten, Amsterdam was the temporary refuge for anne frank and her family, before they were betrayed. her story is a familiar one around the world -- we are still teaching it to our students. it means that holland -- the netherlands, knows the truth about genocide, close up and personal, as much as so many people (esp.ly here) would like to forget it, distort it.

It's true that the dutch soldiers played a shameful role in the capitulation of the srebrenica population to mass-murderer mladic and his all too many willing executioners. BUT -- they were left alone and without international back-up. they were terrified of that monster, and what they surely knew was coming. without our backing, they caved, bigtime. a terrible shame upon us, the intrl's, and a terrible shame upon those troops. Period.

But never confuse the killers from those who should have but did not stop it.

I've read several stories about what happened to some of those dutch soldiers (i'm not referring to the trash-talk that someone here is still circulating.) some of those troops developed major PTSS, and the alcoholism and mental illness to go along with it. i'm certainly not sympathetic to the dutch actions/ inactions, but for those individuals, it is truly sad. though i 'spose it's nothing compared to the at least 8,000 (mostly) men and boys who were butchered by mladic and co., and their surviving family members. all for the dream of greater serbia...

i still say that at the very least, mladic and karadzic should hang for their evil crimes. i don't give a sh-t if that's politically correct or not -- it worked for eichmann, it should be fine for them as well.

the dutch know damn well that mladic was harbored by successive belgrade regimes, and only handed over when it was deemed "optimal." there's not even any point in pretending otherwise.

the dutch also observe that the current blgd regime continues on the same aggressive path ag. bosnia and kosova as did their predecessors, albeit (supposedly) without arms. specifically, blgd has offered its ongoing public support to demagogue dodik and his little fascist clique, exactly the ones that perpetuate the milosevic/karadzic/mladic project.

and with all that, you actually expect the dutch to rally for serbia's eu candidacy? bizarre.

Where were the Dutch morals when they stood by and let the Bosnian Serb army murder those people in Srebrenica? Those in charge in that area should stand trial for failing to protect innocent civilians. Not stopping a crime from being committed is the same as participating in the crime.

I am Dutch and let me assure you that the Dutch political establishment wants to do everything to make sure that only the Serbs get the blame for what happened in Srebrenica. That is why the judge on the Mladic case is Dutch, that is why the obstruction of the SAA. By no account do they want to acknowledge that it was a catastrophic decision (against the opinion of the military staff) to send Dutchbat to a undefendable position and that it was impossible with the mandate and armourment given to stop Oric and his men from slaughtering the Serbian villages in the vicinity. Also, the Dutch media always gave the French the blame for calling off the airsupport to Dutchbat but I would not be surprised if the Dutch government itself called it off.

Where were the Dutch morals when they stood by and let the Bosnian Serb army murder those people in Srebrenica? Those in charge in that area should stand trial for failing to protect innocent civilians. Not stopping a crime from being committed is the same as participating in the crime.

Dutch were caught be surprise when Serbs committed genocide in Bosnia. Now they, at last learned who real Serbs are, thus a BIG NO to EU integration seems almost inevitable.

I have a question to fellow serbs in this forum.
A lot has being talked about Serbrenica.
How bosnian sebs justify this massacre and bombing Sarajevo market in baily bases?Killing 8000 man and boys in 3 hours? How was reported in Serbia and what people talked about it?
Secondly,I have been a big fan of Emir Kusturica( Times of Gypses and other movies) and YU cinema, till Kusturica did what he did by stabbing his fellow bosnians in the back.Did he get paid, because I can not understand a normal person doing what he did.
How did he justify the killing of his bosniak muslims and become an anti bosniak? He is an active member of Kustunica Party isn't he?
I want an explanation from a serb who lives in Serbia, because those things are puzzle to me.

I've read several stories about what happened to some of those dutch soldiers (i'm not referring to the trash-talk that someone here is still circulating.) some of those troops developed major PTSS, and the alcoholism and mental illness to go along with it. i'm certainly not sympathetic to the dutch actions/ inactions, but for those individuals, it is truly sad. though i 'spose it's nothing compared to the at least 8,000 (mostly) men and boys who were butchered by mladic and co., and their surviving family members. all for the dream of greater serbia...

i still say that at the very least, mladic and karadzic should hang for their evil crimes. i don't give a sh-t if that's politically correct or not -- it worked for eichmann, it should be fine for them as well.

the dutch know damn well that mladic was harbored by successive belgrade regimes, and only handed over when it was deemed "optimal." there's not even any point in pretending otherwise.

the dutch also observe that the current blgd regime continues on the same aggressive path ag. bosnia and kosova as did their predecessors, albeit (supposedly) without arms. specifically, blgd has offered its ongoing public support to demagogue dodik and his little fascist clique, exactly the ones that perpetuate the milosevic/karadzic/mladic project.

and with all that, you actually expect the dutch to rally for serbia's eu candidacy? bizarre.

This awaits all small states that join the EU. Small states will be marginalized and will lose their sovereignty. Matters in the EU are decided by big countries or big blocks of interests like catholics who listen to the pope in Rome. And when Turkey joins, they will instantly become one of the biggest blocks.

Ooops, my bad but welcome to the club. However, it's my wife who was among the first 10 in OKTV (at Fazekas-Berzsenyi level) - I did not make it. At one point I will probably quietly move in a corner and let the "Atawoman" and "Atakids" deal with B92.

Dutch are the only ones in the EU that are principal in defending international law. At least they have morals to do so. As per Serbia, they deserve to be out of the EU because there is no matching with average moral values. Serbia needs to reach. In this segment they need to reach Romania and Bulgaria before they can get ratification of SAA or Candidate status.

I've read several stories about what happened to some of those dutch soldiers (i'm not referring to the trash-talk that someone here is still circulating.) some of those troops developed major PTSS, and the alcoholism and mental illness to go along with it. i'm certainly not sympathetic to the dutch actions/ inactions, but for those individuals, it is truly sad. though i 'spose it's nothing compared to the at least 8,000 (mostly) men and boys who were butchered by mladic and co., and their surviving family members. all for the dream of greater serbia...

i still say that at the very least, mladic and karadzic should hang for their evil crimes. i don't give a sh-t if that's politically correct or not -- it worked for eichmann, it should be fine for them as well.

the dutch know damn well that mladic was harbored by successive belgrade regimes, and only handed over when it was deemed "optimal." there's not even any point in pretending otherwise.

the dutch also observe that the current blgd regime continues on the same aggressive path ag. bosnia and kosova as did their predecessors, albeit (supposedly) without arms. specifically, blgd has offered its ongoing public support to demagogue dodik and his little fascist clique, exactly the ones that perpetuate the milosevic/karadzic/mladic project.

and with all that, you actually expect the dutch to rally for serbia's eu candidacy? bizarre.

Dutch were caught be surprise when Serbs committed genocide in Bosnia. Now they, at last learned who real Serbs are, thus a BIG NO to EU integration seems almost inevitable.

Serbia need to reform, apologize and pay reparation to the victims in order for the Dutch to change their stance.

As long as Serbia live in denial the EU dream look to distant, if ever, to be reached.

(miri, 8 June 2011 16:19)--

Yes, miri, and it isn't just him and his vomitus, but others as well. they are barfing out a mile a minute -- while we are writing analysis and critique. they are highlighted, we are subject to "editing" and censor. oh what ever went so horribly wrong?

i have been discussing this media for many years. once upon a time, about 5 years ago, 3 of us came to b92 and interviewed veron matic. one was american (me), one serb, one ethnic albanian. we were generally very impressed with what we saw and heard -- esp.ly b'92's classy headquarters, which they had fairly recently moved into, acc to veron.

i was ready to write something quite positive and sympathetic based on my years of reading b92, the interview, and the book they gave us (engl for me) about b-92's history. it was fascinating and quite inspiring.

we were also quite impressed by the gal, not a regular b92 employee at least at that time, who interpreted for us (for me.)she was not only very pretty, she was smart, incredibly well educated, and her knowledge of english and english literature impeccable. we were hoping that my belgrade frnd might end up dating her, but it never happened.

soon after the intv, i wrote to thank her, and she responded (i am paraphrasing): "thank you for caring about us serbs and our side. we are so tired of all the lies and exaggerations against us, like saying that 7,000 people died at srebrenica..." in other words, she too turned out to be a hard core nationalist, historical revisionist. i was quite hurt and shocked at the time. not my frnds: what did you expect, what do you expect, who cares what she says?? but somehow it was a peek into the other side of b-92, some kind of omen into what was to come.

i have several frnds now who hate and detest this site. i can't even discuss it with them, so emotional are they in their revulsion.

as for my bosnian frnd, the "graduate" of omarska, i just spoke with him this week: "I don't know what happened with them. they used be be a good news source, i really don't know what happened..." and he follows the balkan media closely, in their language(serbo-croatian.)

acc. to Sonia, b-92 is now under new ownership (how would we know?) which might or might not imply new changes, new openness? that's her slant.

personally, i have been fighting ag. political censorship here for years! and it has been so arbitrary and capricious. mostly targeting dissidents and minorities, but not only. but it is just so bizarre and outrageous that they promote the trash talk -- the vomitus -- and then we have to fight for each and every sentence. actually it is sick, and it is immoral, and it is also frankly embarrassing.

we need to continue to demand freedom of speech -- RESponsible freedom of speech. we need to continue to demand transparency and diversity.
we need to demand less editorializing within the "news" stories. and so much more...

but anyway, same ole same ole. i do wish to apologize to you, miri.
not that they give a d-mn what i think. but in the name of responsible journalists around the world. it ain't the easiest profession, to say the least. not the easiest route to wealth, fame or happiness. but it does imply integrity and a willing path towards the truth, and that is something that has been missing from these pages all too ofter.

miri -- you just keep blogging here, as often as you wish. and if they "edit" you, come back w/ three posts. if they attack you, and you know they will, just double up on yr efforts. get yr frnds and allies to write in. never let these low-lifes intimidate you, regardless of ethnicity, i don't give a sh-t.

i knew and told frnds ahead of time: if b92 publishes our link(s), they will attack us big-time, and i don't mean w/ substance. and there are some REAlly nasty pieces running around here, that is no exaggeration.

but what is the alternative? to hide the truth out of fear, from intimidation? of moving away, because you get sick of low-life attacks, of unending low-life vomitus?

we know, you and i, that there is no level playing field here, that we have to work harder, and field many more attacks than the other side. that's just a fact of life. so it makes it essential to try that much harder, to excel in our work, in our critiques. but we are needed here, god knows! jonny used to say "as a corrective." are you back jonny? i hope so.

dissidents and minorities must not be intimidated away, we must remain strong and steadfast. never let them intimidate you!! free and responsible speech, that is our goal, and we will not rest until we achieve it. and yes, the struggle for free speech, for freedom, for the truth, it strengthens me, and miri, it should strengthen you too. Never give in -- never give up! never.

--Milosevic (adam leBor)

and just picked up 2 interesting books in the balkans, 1st in albanian, 2nd in serbo-croatian, both w/ a bit of english:

1--Shpirti i dermuar: dhuna serbe ndaj femres shqiptare ne kosove (1997-99) (naxhije doci)
2--progoni i politicki procesi u sandzaku

the first we picked up in pristina. the (female) author was sitting w/ a group of "VIPs" and i went over to say hi to adem dimaci, and showed him our latest report. she wanted me to have the book, despite my VERY minimal albanian. the 2nd is by a frnd of a frnd, also a very sharp, funny young journalist. with an edge. despite my limited S-C-B...

The background is that Szemi finished the same high school as me and it's always fun to tease an ex-schoolmate. And he is 50% Polish. "Je¿" could be also a reference to Joe, since Joe = "Józsi" in Hungarian and the Polish je¿ is "ёжик" in Russian, sounds almost the same.

Dude I finished Kölcsey in sport class not Fazekas(I have never worn glasses) but I am quite familiar with that school and teachers. Many people belive that I attended either it or Radnóti because I was among 10 best at Math OKTV but this is not the case.

It's quite funny how Albanians and other Serb haters come to this Serbian site almost daily and get beaten up by the truth. Yes, the truth hurts my friends and we know all about those western journalists, don't we?

Ooops, my bad but welcome to the club. However, it's my wife who was among the first 10 in OKTV (at Fazekas-Berzsenyi level) - I did not make it. At one point I will probably quietly move in a corner and let the "Atawoman" and "Atakids" deal with B92.

The main reason I am not doing it is that some will file animal cruelty charges against them.

This awaits all small states that join the EU. Small states will be marginalized and will lose their sovereignty. Matters in the EU are decided by big countries or big blocks of interests like catholics who listen to the pope in Rome. And when Turkey joins, they will instantly become one of the biggest blocks.

The Dutch like to moralize others that is a fact.
But not honoring your word is very bad.
Duthbat Not stopping Mladic was a Dutch failure.
This is a fact and the dutch have to live with this all their lives.
