Shoulder fired surface-to-air missiles like Strela will be quite sufficient to blow the hot air out of the windbags (thanks JS).The colonel has plenty of them.

"Let me repeat, there are only two ways out. The first is withdrawal and the second is ground troops, but the Colonel will invite Al Qaida and the living nightmare for the US starts all over again.

I believe that sending in ground troops will violate the UNSC resolution. But then, who knows? Do we really expect those Yankees and their Nato lackeys to abide by the rules when it suit them to break them?

i was suprised by the ineffectiveness of the libyan air defence, so their air defence system was waiting for the russians to update.
Now the helicopters are in, since my time in the forces in 2000, we should see a turkey shoot, or have we depressed the arab world that much in retarded air defense that they have been conned in buying rubish i letb youn be then judge in this one

The air action was only to last 5 max ten days using superior western flying scrap metal, the forces go goodness would triumph, but after two months of bombardment; nothing. The second stage of the quagmire is to send in the helicopters. This is where it gets very tricky, while aircraft fly sufficiently high enough to avoid being shot down although a couple have been destroyed, but the forces of niceness and goodness never admitted to this fact, helicopters have to fly sufficiently low enough to see the enemy and consequently the enemy can see them and destroy them. Here are some of the classic excuses used by the United States of Windbags in Afghanistan when helicopters were shot down – mechanical failure, weather (sandstorms) and pilot error, but in the meantime the body bags keep on arriving in Germany.
As NATO has changed tactics so will the Colonel’s forces to adapt to the new situation.
Dennis Kucinich, Democrat, wanted to pass a resolution to cease all action against Libya and this would have passed with Republicans voting for the Bill, but was withdrawn because it would be devastating for Obama.

The Tory goverment and their Liberal bedfellows keep telling their subservient population that the country is broke.
They can't afford to maintain their health service, build affordable housing, create more school places, sent their students to universities or care for the elderly, but they can afford to blow the shit out of the Libya.

Hey,at last Shell,Esso and BP amd the world's banker are doing well.
