Greece joined NATO in 1952. Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia became NATO members in 2004.

Albania and Croatia joined NATO in April 2009, and in December 2009 Montenegro was granted Membership Action Plan (MAP) status, which is designed to assist those countries that wish to join the alliance.

Lavrov has NATO members at his doorstep, such as Poland and he worries for Balkans.

Serbia is encircled by NATO members, and Kosova did not have to join NATO, but rather NATO joined KosovA.Montengro will become a member, as well as Macedonia once it solves its problem about the name with Greece.

The Russians don’t need Poland or any of the others. Its strategy is to keep Serbia neutral and BiH will never join NATO so who gives a hoot whether Montenegro joins even a local football club. It’s there to block an uninterrupted territory under NATO’s control up to Russia’s eastern borders and it has succeeded in doing that. Let me say just this; if Tadic even considers trying to sell out the Russians he will be gone very soon thereafter.
By the way what is this thing called NATO? It’s a complete failure in Afghanistan and now it’s back will be broken in Libya. It was supposed to take between five and 10 days before overthrowing Gaddafi and now after 2 months NATO has extended its mission by 90 days.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tadic intends to sell-out Serbia to NATO also but Russia has its fair share of blame for not providing support to Serbia when we needed it. It's a shame I won't be in Belgrade during the protests but lets make it big and loud.
