Ross, I assume that this is a typo and you mean "no longer acceptable", in which case I agree completely. Great strides have been made in correcting public misconceptions about Down's people: most members of the public no longer believe them to be dangerous and their aptitude for shaking hands and clapping enthusiastically illuminates many a social services community fun day. This event shows that they can also be capable drivers, so long as built-up areas are avoided and speeds kept moderate. Congratulations to the organisers and all participants!

I'm disappointed that an otherwise interesting article should be spoiled by the use of outdated and offensive terminology. It is simply no longer offensive to use the term "Mongol" casually in this way. The Down's Syndrome Rally, on the other hand, is an event of which we can all be proud.
