sigh...

serbs will NEVER be able to negotiate a theft where force and violence have already failed.

serb leadership can put on a top a hat and put on a new song and dance for its population...

but that fundamental reality will never change.

Here we have roberto once again coming to a Serbian site making sure the divisions between Serbians and Albanians remain alive and strong. He does not come here for peace and reconciliation but for division and hate. Anyone who writes the way he does has the objective to anger one site while feeding the other side nothing more than hateful propaganda.

He links to an article that is so flawed even a child could detect it. Listen to the way the Trepce mine is described:
--
"The crossed-hammer emblem of Trepca – believed to be owned by Slobodan Milosevic himself – could easily be mistaken for a Swastika left over from the last time fear on this scale stalked central Europe."
--
Oh, and nothing like attempting to link Serbians to NAZIs
--
Like Adolf Hitler a generation ago, the arguably psychopathic Milosevic ordered the widespread burning of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Albanian civilian corpses. The remains of men, women and children, of babies and the elderly, of healthy young men and the severely disabled – all going up in smoke, all turned to cinders. Burn the bodies, burn the evidence.
--
But then this article changes the story from elderly, babies and childern to "The furnaces were fired up once again to burn the bodies of the men and boys the Serbs had feared would take up arms against them."

And yet again, to "the bodies from graves and massacre sites in refrigerated, civilian trucks"

And it claims "Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic ordered his henchmen to instigate a massive cover-up."
--
Suddenly, and with little formal preparation, a diverse collection of police, soldiers, paramilitaries and special service operatives was enlisted in a top-secret plan to conceal yet another round of Balkan war crimes.
--
It even claims there was "a cover-up of the cover-up" so it seems those Serbians were very thorough except, umm, well:
--
But nearby, the ARW journalists noticed discarded civilian clothing, including men’s and women’s dress shoes.
--
In other words, less than 18 months after the end of hostilities, remnants of the Albanian civilian attire were still visible, albeit in greatly reduced numbers due to the extensive, ongoing cover-up of the intervening months.
--
So those Serbs used "a diverse collection of police, soldiers, paramilitaries and special service operatives" in this cover-up but after 18 months still managed to leave clothes from bodies that were apparently dug up from graves. So before burning them someone stripped the corpses and threw them in the furnaces.

Why strip them, because clothes don't burn? Also, I wonder how this person determined the clothes belonged to Albanians?

Hold on, there's more
--
Soon after the Kosovo war, war crimes investigators had purportedly searched Trepca’s mines amid reports that Serb forces had dumped hundreds of bodies down the facility’s deep shafts; reportedly, they found no remains. But the Serbian fighters told ARW that the investigators looked in the wrong place.
--
So these people know where the investigators looked?

Now I think I've read enough to see the purpose of roberto's hate spreading. It seems to work day and night to keep divisions between people alive. He is little bothered with the genocide being committed in Israel or the massacres being committed in Afghanistan and Iraq. His purpose is to ensure Serbians, Albanians and Bosnian Muslims remain divided.

Let me remind everyone that the current negotiations cover missing people so if everyone can start being honest with each other then we can get to the bottom of it. That is why truth and reconciliation is a much better approach to justice or in particular, selective justice as roberto keep endorsing.

The justice system forces people to lie, hate, seek revenge and cover up crimes because that is the nature of the system. Selective justice, as served by the NATO court is designed to keep divisions alive between people.

Truth and reconciliation forces the truth, forgiveness, remorse and reconciliation. That is the path to life with peace.

Mr Tadic, although your words are well choosen and of a nice charactar, on the ground we have another story. If you want to put your words into deeds start with the following: Make from Preseve and Sandzjak an economically strong region. Serbia has always left the region populated with non-serbs as "poor" regions without any major investment. This is now again happening with the 2 above mentioned regions. Try first too make those regions a economicall bastion. Kosova will never, I repeat never, be ruled from Belgrade anymore. If you do not take care for the Preseve Valley they will join, in the next 2 or 3 decades, Kosova. Tung (FREEDOM, 2 June 2011 10:46)

thank you FREEDOM, you echo my sentiments. kosova will NEVER be ruled by belgrade again -- ever! and if they keep up their present policies, they'll see their own country fall apart, piece by piece. if you treat people like dirt, like the enemy, as is done in Preshevo, then they will act and react accordingly, and you will never gain an allegiance, nor should you. so, yes tadic, you need to think outside the box, as you SAY, rather than the same ole, same ole tired nationalism, as you do.

as for the recent step up in personal attacks ag. me, incl the old nazi slogan : "go back to Palestine," it is somewhat understandable, esp.ly with the new report, Burning Secrets from the Balkans:
http://www.bosniaks.net/prilog.php?pid=41966

And as I've said, I do appreciate that b-92 has allowed this link to be posted, which of course it should. some of this material has been previously carried on this site -- certainly Kandic's report from 2004,which is one of the numerous sources, but other material as well, incl the american radioworks report(s) from 2001. I urge people (on all sides) to actually read thru the report, and then make up your own minds. and you decide whether this is a hate and SMEAR report (like you know whose), or if it is based on strong and robust research. of course it is not the end of the line, but rather a very clear call for action.

it was interesting that we had a well known senior Serbian journalist (among many others) read the report and back it. but that is also understandable -- he is one of the named sources for the information!

so if, in disseminating the truth from the past, it means that we are subject to nasty personal attacks (again, and again and again) then that's ok with me, i accept it. it is the price we pay, it makes us only stronger and more determined, thank you very much.

I really do hope that b-92 remains a bit more open, despite all of the pressures from the usual suspects, the default nationalism, etc. the media has a very strong duty, that should never be perverted, or dragged thru the mud.

i do appreciate all (intelligent) comments re the report. just do me a favor, read it first.

"I have an unconventional move for you, boris. Why don't you quit your job and move yourself to kosovo. Then you can see what it's like instead of talking out of your ass all of the time."
(JohnBoy, 2 June 2011 18:30)

That is a good suggestion and if he actually listens to you and then does it he can take B92 with him and give it to the Albanians as well since this news outlet has become pretty much Albanian considering their majority of postings and their very impressive good comment-to-poor comment ratio. Let's not forget that when there will be a partitioning deal and land swap(s) (even though I am against that since that means that terrorism, poor family planning to change the demographics, theft plus continuous lies about exaggerated death before and during the NATO aggression that they are using to make their points and to keep playing victims will be rewarded) that the 100,000 or so Albanians in Belgrade, even though they seem to be happy there and well-behaved, will be part of this deal and sent back to "paradise" for maybe within 50-100 years the Albanians will claim Belgrade as well. Finally, any deal means that "Kosova" and its sponsors/masters will have to pay for all investments that Serbia/Yugoslavia made and there is no way that the Kosovo Albanians can pay for that (and I doubt that the sponsors/masters will be keen on doing that).

Mr.Tadic there will be no solution that ignores the reality on the ground. The number of the serbs that live in Kosovo is almost the same as the number of Albanians that live in southern Serbia. Territory exchange is out of discussion because serbs and albanians cannot guarantee the international community that new problems will not rise in Bosnia and Macedonia.Only dividing Kosovo will not happen without conflict in Presevo Valley. I understand that it is hard for you to sell to the serbs what they resist to accept. You can still show to the serbs that have a little common sense left Montenegro. This is a country of Serbs that decided that they cannot live together with Serbia. There is no reason why Albanians in Kosovo that suffered the serbian terror will accept less than that.

This comment is an update on a comment that I wrote, and it contains some more of my opinions.

If we look at History, then we will say that all the People of the former Yugoslavia have been losers, because after Tito, there should have been a Negotiated Settlement on the matter of Borders.

It appears that most of the People of the former Yugoslavia will continue to be losers if they do not Negotiate Border Changes; however, UNSCR 1244 speaks only of the need to Negotiate a Final Status for Kosovo.

The only People that have been Winners are the Slovenes, and that is what could be the case with the other People of the former Yugoslavia if they Mutually Agreed to Change their Borders.

It is easy to be Wise in Hindsight, and even Einstein has said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and hoping for a different result.

They say that if you want to be successful, then copy successful People, and the Slovenes are the most successful People from the former Yugoslavia.

Slovenia has shown the rest of the former Yugoslavia that if they want to be successful, then they Should Redraw their Borders.

It needs to be understood that the Leader of the SPS is in favour of seeking a Constitutional Amendment to allow for the Partition of Kosovo.

I am in favour of redrawing the Map of the former Yugoslavia if it could be done properly and fairly, but that would be very difficult, if not impossible for the next few years, until the Region of the former Yugoslavia has many more Mature and Adult Politicians with real vision like the Leader of the SPS.

It needs to be said that it is not Treasonous to want to Amend the Constitution, and only the LDP, and possibly the DS and the SNS would give away Serbian Land without a Referendum to first Change the Serbian Constitution.

We will know what level of support the SPS has for this at the Next Serbian Election, unless for some reason the Final Status of Kosovo is resolved by then.

There is a good percentage of Serbia Voters who would trade 67% of Kosovo for the Independence of the Serb Republic, which would mean unification of the Serb Republic with Serbia.

I do not care if the 67% of Kosovo were to gain autonomy under Albania, because that is not my concern, just like I would not care if the Croat Entity of Bosnia Herzegovina were to join Croatia, because that would make perfect sense for them.

There is a maximum of one year before the Next Election, and if the Status of Kosovo is resolved exactly like the SPS wants before the next Serbian Election, then the SPS will have to find other issues to gain at least 5% of the Votes, like the dismissal Economic Record and Policies of the DS.

Some People may think that the SPS may engineer an early Election, in order to benefit from their present Electoral Advantage because of the Partition of Kosovo Policy.

However, even if the Kosovo Albanians agree to Temporarily Reintegrate with Serbia, the SPS will always gain over 5% of the Vote at any Election with their Partition Policy.

As a Member of the Coalition Government, the SPS wants a Kosovo Compromise to be in line with the Serbian Constriction, and with the Agreed Government Policy.

However, as an Individual Political Party, the SPS would seek support from the Serbian Voters to Amend the Serbian Constitution to allow for Border Changes.

We know that a Constitutional Amendment will be needed, because the Albanians have said that they want Presevo Valley included in any Partition of Kosovo.

Regardless of anyone’s Opinion on the current Status of Kosovo, even America recognizes that Presevo Valley is Serbian Land, and Presevo Valley cannot be considered as part of a Partition Deal without the approval of the Majority of the Serbian Voters.

It needs to be fully understood by Everyone, that this is Only my Approximate Suggestions on what Partition of Kosovo Could look like, and that it is only one of several Possible Models.

My suggestions should in no way reflect on the Official Serbian Government Position, and also the Position of the Overwhelming Majority of Serbian Voters who may be willing to Recognize 67% of Kosovo as an Independent Country under certain conditions.

Opinion Polls should be Conducted to find what the True Level of Support there is among the Kosovo Albanians to the notion of Partition, rather than listening to the few trolls who profess to be Albanians, and who write comments on this Website.

The Entire United Nation General Assembly Unanimously Voted that the lives of the People of Serbia and Kosovo should be improved.

This can only be done by a Negotiated Settlement of Kosovo’s Final Status, and Regardless of What that Might Be, it will need Money, and that Should be funded with Defaults on all of Serbia’s current Loans.

Serbia should by all means default on all of its Loans to the IMF, the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; borrow the Money from Other Sources, and keep Camp Bondsteel, because these things are Compensation for Serbia.

Serbia would want the area where the Battle of Kosovo was fought centuries ago, and there would be other places that would be connected to Serbia by a thick enough land corridor and the Serbs will want Camp Bondsteel for a Tourist Luxury Motel Complex.

I hope that we can agree to disagree, without becoming disagreeable, and I write my comments in order to contribute to the Public Debate.

(FREEDOM, 2 June 2011 10:46)

Tung,
your comments are interesting but this is true of every minority region around the world. In my father's native Argentina, all minority areas are the poorest areas. Indeed, there is an inverse relationship between complexion and wealth with whiter individuals having far more prosperity than darker individuals, and that includes investment in their communities. In the United States, the situation is equally stark. If you drive around Washington, DC, you will see the disparity in economic investment. Take North West, DC, versus South East, DC, for instance. In North West, you have Georgetown and Friendship Heights, two areas of high prosperity. South East, on the other hand is desperately poor and one rarely sees a grocery store, a bank, or a real restaurant there. Serbia is not unique in its investment in these areas. All countries need to work harder on their treatment of minorities. Once Serbia and Kosovo's representatives work out a just solution, and Serbia recognizes Kosovo's independence (which I believe it will only after a just solution is attained), I'll bet Kosovo will also fail to invest in its minority areas. It's as inevitable as the sun rising in the morning.

Err, perhaps poor regions in Serbia have little to do with ethnic politics. Much closer to the truth is the minerals / resources available to a given area, or its proximity to the nation's capital.

On the topic I generally agree with Tadic's position. No stone should be left unturned in the search for a solution to Kosovo. There is a plan out there that will be acceptible for both parties, the only question is finding it.

I'm happy that Serbia is finally doing its part, its a pity that this wasn't done sooner.

Kosovo and the Kosovars are sending you a conventional and reciprocal "thank you" back on June 20th, 2011. It's three (3) years too late, but it's better than never. According to the Statistical Office of Kosovo (SOK) you are about feel the loss of 200-300mn EUR.

If some Serbs don't like what he's doing, then try to vote him out in the next election. If he's not voted out, then tough luck. That's democracy.

Mr Tadic, although your words are well choosen and of a nice charactar, on the ground we have another story.

If you want to put your words into deeds start with the following:

Make from Preseve and Sandzjak an economically strong region.

I hope that we can agree to disagree, without becoming disagreeable, and I write my comments in order to contribute to the Public Debate.

thank you FREEDOM, you echo my sentiments. kosova will NEVER be ruled by belgrade again -- ever! and if they keep up their present policies, they'll see their own country fall apart, piece by piece. if you treat people like dirt, like the enemy, as is done in Preshevo, then they will act and react accordingly, and you will never gain an allegiance, nor should you. so, yes tadic, you need to think outside the box, as you SAY, rather than the same ole, same ole tired nationalism, as you do.

as for the recent step up in personal attacks ag. me, incl the old nazi slogan : "go back to Palestine," it is somewhat understandable, esp.ly with the new report, Burning Secrets from the Balkans:
http://www.bosniaks.net/prilog.php?pid=41966

Maybe he means that approaching the subject with the intent of what is bad for the Albanians instead of what is good for Serbia has been a mistake.
If someone had realized that 4 years ago the world may not have been in this pickle. Is it too late, I don't know.
All the people on here that keep saying the Albanians need to be careful or they will get less than the "more than autonomy less than independence" offered. Do you realize that phrase was never circulated until after negotiations had broken down and it was inevitable that Kosovo would declare independence? Therefore it was never even offered.
And the answer to your quesion is maybe he is realizing as a state leader that this boycott approach is only hurting Serbia not Kosovo, because they are attending and Serbia is being seen in a very negative light.

What is he talking about now? These idiots come up with new ideas every day. I dont think anyone is taking their plans seriously...

Tadic, quit fooling your own ppl.

That would provide a chance "for a new solution", he told the Belgrade-based Status magazine in an interview.

Tadic knows that myths brought Serbia in situation it's today. Serbs need to come down to earth instead of walking on clouds.
(ivan, 2 June 2011 13:50)

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

If some Serbs don't like what he's doing, then try to vote him out in the next election. If he's not voted out, then tough luck. That's democracy. I've now spent more than three and a half years living under a regime which I did not vote for, yet surprisingly, my life (and country) are still pretty much the same!

"This new unconventional approach includes sending misleading messages from different levels of our govt, promoting a more than autonomy-less than independence framework, boycoting intl. betraying our knights to get appeal to the EU, negotiating with fake KiM officials and moving to prosecute them on organ-trafficking, so it's definitely creative.

Highdude, I missed your clear and concise comments.
To top it off, it's great to see Zoran actually blaming others for spreading hate.

That is the path to life with peace.

sigh...

serbs will NEVER be able to negotiate a theft where force and violence have already failed.

serb leadership can put on a top a hat and put on a new song and dance for its population...

but that fundamental reality will never change.

The Trepca mines hoax was disproved a long time ago. http://www.wsws.org/articles/2002/jun2002/trep-j28.shtml

Why do you continue to post long dead propoganda?
