No matter how many knights & companies we sell out to them, they wont let us in as long as we divide our loyalty between the EU & RUS but the govt's entire reason for being is EU ascension so it will keep pushing even though the EU won't take us bc they know that we'll be advance Russian interests by bleeding them with exorbitant S.Stream transit fees whether we get in or not.

Still thinking Serbia is going to become some kind of master through the southstream project, unbelievable. It seems like you think the oil will flow from russia to Serbia to Europe and you are going to control it all.
First the pipeline will travel through several countries and there is no way Russia is going to allow any of them to hold their oil hostage. Remember any oil not flowing to Europe is taking money out of Russia's pocket.
Remember the Ukraine situation, where they mistakenly thought they controlled the flow of oil, suddenly they were paying so much for their personal use it broke them.
Of course none of this matters in the case of Serbia, remember who owns 51% of your energy sector??? It means Russia will control all prices charged and also how much of that money flows to the state and how much is kept by the company and how much is redirected back to Russia.
So if you are looking for someway to show the Strength of Serbia look elsewhere because the southstream will only show Serbia's impotence.

CR, it has nothing to do with morals or ethics, believe me. in place of any morality is just unending hyper-nationalism, and it ain't a great substitution.

yesterday i spoke with my bosnian frnd, a "graduate" of omarska conc. camp, and 2 others besides. he still watches different bosnian tv broadcasts that can be accessed in the US. and those stations, for ex. from biljena, show intense support for mladic. they had some 10,000 protesters on the streets of banja luka, giving full support to this mass-murderer, giving full support to Genocide, which is what the "RS" is based on.

and isn't that much of the problem? so many people in the "RS," in one way or another, helped execute the milosevic/karadzic/mladic program. if they somehow admit that their entity is based on genocide, how do they comfortably live with themselves? it is so much better to stay in denial, to pretend that the 400+ mass graves found and exhumed on "RS" soil don't or never existed. it is a willing suspension of disbelief, of the reality around them.

it is something quite bad when 10,000 people are demonstrating for mladic in blgd, some of whom are screaming "noz--zica--srebrenica." but it's even more disturbing, as my frnd pointed out, to see 10,000 bosnians in banja luka doing the same. that is a much larger % of the people there, people, at least of a certain age, who should know the truth. who may even still be living w/ SOME Bosnian non-serbs in their midst. can you imagine what message such demonstrations send to those non-serbs? such chants?

the blgd regime has to take responsibility for supporting this proxy. for giving its full sympathy and support of a corrupt demagogue and his nasty little clique. and yet they claim to be ready for eu membership?? they may be able to get through the requirements of ethically challenged eu officials, but they are certainly not sharing any progressive EU values.

but on to the trial in the hague, even if 16 years too late!

Linking Serbias accession with Croatia???? Croatia is about to finalize negotiations and get a date for ACCESSION to the EU by about june/july 2013. Serbia hasn'e even been granted a date for CANDIDATE status. Thinking Croatia will wait 10 years for Serbia to catch up is nothing short of fanciful.

This isn't about justice, it is about geopolitical interests where Serbia ends up with the short stick. It is people like Tadic who are allowing that to happen.
(Zoran, 1 June 2011 11:58

I couldn't agree more with your comments. On top form as always.Western justice is only apportioned to certain individuals from certain countries and certain political divide.Their fate is not judged in the context of the bloody and bitter civil war but on the stereotype assumption that crimes were committed only by Serbs.

The Hague Inquistion is being orchestrated by the same NATO Pact that is directly responsible for the deaths of over 1.5 million people in Iraq, Afghnistan and Pakistan. But don't expect anytime soon the UK do arrest war criminal Blair or the US arrest war criminals Clinton,Bush,Albright
and a large number of generals and other military men and send them to the Hague.Had they done so they wouldn't be able to prosecute any future imperialistic wars.

Tadic is deluding himself by thinking that Mladic's sacrifice will open the doors of the discredited EU.There is more pain and humiliation on the way and he will be prepared to swallow it.I can predict now that he will be pressed hard to join Nato and also recognise the narco state of kosovo in exchange for an accession date. The only people that can stop him are the Serbs themselves but time in not on their side.

Who are you or the NATO court to make judgement? Again I will repeat Matthew 7:1 for your benefit. Hopefully you will get it this time.

Do not judge so that you will not be judged.

For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye?

First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Linking Serbia's accession with Croatia's has always made sense administratively. The ex-YU countries are too small and have too much in common (language, legal framework, economic history, etc) to justify each being treated as a distinct case, whatever the inhabitants themselves might think. Running the process simultaneously for both countries would also prevent Croatia making political mischief with Serbia's accession in the same way that Slovenia has with theirs.

Despite what the K-Albanians are claiming, the arrest of Mladic has been a complete game-changer. Hadzic (who?) and recognition of Kosovan UDI are in no way pre-requisites of Serbia moving forward to EU membership. I retain some scepticism about the EU, but there is no question that the accession process is one that will benefit Serbia. Decide if you want to join when you actually get there.

Zoran

Zoran, in which way did Tadic betray Serbians? You do understand the difference between an individual and the citizens of a country don't you?
I might add that I remember your position on Mladic in terms of that you had no opinion on the man, but you thought that he should remain free if it prevents EU membership.
And now the 'principled' talk of betrayal? Hmmm.

You left out the part where I mentioned he should be tried in Serbia or even the Hague just after it announces to indict Clinton, Blair, Albright, Clark with other members of the joint criminal enterprise and to start an investigation into NATO war crimes.

Otherwise no Serbian should ever be sent to the NATO court as it has proven time and again to deal in hypocrisy and not justice. That is how Tadic betrayed the Serbian people. He has allowed the show trials to continue.

I am more for truth and reconciliation than justice but in this case, we have very little of either. The politics are dirty while the truth is spun to the point it becomes a lie.

However, I do think that Tadic knows full well that misleading comments about the EU will not gain Serbian entry. There is no such thing as fast track EU membership, as he well knows.

On the other hand its interesting to see the way Tadic is trying to tie Serbian and Croatian EU membership together. I'm not sure the Croatian government will be overly pleased by this, but opponents of the EU in Croatia might be - as if Croatia and Serbia go in together this means there is no prospect of Croatia being given full membership anytime soon.

it is something quite bad when 10,000 people are demonstrating for mladic in blgd, some of whom are screaming "noz--zica--srebrenica." but it's even more disturbing, as my frnd pointed out, to see 10,000 bosnians in banja luka doing the same. that is a much larger % of the people there, people, at least of a certain age, who should know the truth. who may even still be living w/ SOME Bosnian non-serbs in their midst. can you imagine what message such demonstrations send to those non-serbs? such chants?

the blgd regime has to take responsibility for supporting this proxy. for giving its full sympathy and support of a corrupt demagogue and his nasty little clique. and yet they claim to be ready for eu membership?? they may be able to get through the requirements of ethically challenged eu officials, but they are certainly not sharing any progressive EU values.

but on to the trial in the hague, even if 16 years too late!
