'truthiness' you like so many others are making comments without doing proper research. That was a video of the splinter 'scorpion' unit, which was not under the command of General Mladic. All of those men were arrested and sent to jail for life in Belgrade. So, that does not count as evidence for the case of Mladic. The Bosnian Serb army didnt dress in black and wear red berets, the scorpions did, get it right.

truthiness

pre 12 godina

It was the US that stated and printed the story of 8,000 bosnian muslims were killed, when in reality it has been proven that only 2,000 bosnian muslims died in battle against the Bosnian Serb army.

Yea , I remeber seeing that battle on video. You remember , it was that famous battle when the Serbian paramilitaries were video taped by their own men shooting unarmed men and boys who had their hands tied behind their backs. And I also remember in that same famous battle where the actual participants have confessed to their 'brave' actions to clear their conscience. Describing in detail how they shot the innocents in the back and back of the head under orders from their brave officers.

You have a very unique interpretation of 'battle'.

This is why extremists will always be ridiculed and dismissed as ignorant fools.

Nothing that Mladic says about anything matters at this point. He could give a full confession and it wouldn't count for anything. He had a severe stroke in 1996, and there are reports that he had two more strokes while he was in hiding, one in the summer of 2006 that almost killed him and another in 2008. His brain is gone, he can't testify, he can't defend himself, and it's doubtful that he would be mentally or physically able to sit in the court room and follow his own trial or that he would be able to select an attorney and direct his defense. They may as well be having a trial in absentia. Regardless of what he did or didn't do, I don't think it does anybody any good for Mladic to go to The Hague. The guy belongs in a nursing home.

No Danilo, it is not me who is short on facts. Im not sure how much you know about Balkan genetics, but Serbs, Croats and Muslims have genetics that are so similar it is often impossible to tell the difference. And you state how you somehow know with absolute certainty that over 8000 bodies were dug up, im sorry but were you actually there? did you personally take pictures of 8000 bodies? Im guessing not but correct me if im wrong. Why have INDEPENDENT (not NATO) investigators disagreed with the number by such an extent, have a think.

Danilo

pre 12 godina

"Danilo, from where did these 8100 bodies come from?"

3 mass-graves surrounding Srebrenica. Bones from bodies of people were found in 3 separate graves. That means, that the bodies were buried, dug up, reburied and then dug up and reburied a 2nd time.

For someone called "the truth", you're sure short on facts.

"Sure there are bound to be mass graves all over the place, but to perfectly determine that they were all muslims and all killed in June 1995 is a bit ridiculous."

DNA. it is a bit ridiculous. 100s of scientists can work for a decade and people can still sit at their computers and say "it didn't happen"

"How about the mass graves from Naser Oric's crimes in the years before 1995?"

All crimes in the Balkans should be investigated regardless of the ethnicity of the victims. So yes, the 100s of Serbs that were killed by Oric should be just as investigated as the 1000s of Bosniaks that were killed.

It wouldnt surprise me if a lot of dead Serbs have been included in this count despite having been killed by Naser 'Zmija' Oric (snake). When, just when on earth will we find justice for Serbs??? Never, because nobody wants to listen, because of course to the West, any Serb who fought and died in this war is a criminal, why cant people realise that Serbs were as much of a victim of the war as Muslims or Croats.

Regardless of what he did on the battlefield, we are more likely to get the truth from Mladic on the Topcider deaths than from politicians.

Unlike others, Mladic says things without calculating the consequences.

Its similar to Seselj, except Seselj regularly tells lies and has a political agenda and Mladic can't stand politics. Mladic even had the gumption to state that Seselj was a cretin.

Lets hope that Mladic did say something about the Topcider deaths - perhaps his reward was to visit his daughers grave. On the other hand perhaps he was going to talk about Topcider which would have implicated politicians, so they offered him a visit to his daughers grave to shut him up.

Nothing is black and white. Mladic, just like anybody else is not the devil incarnate or somebody worthy of worship as some people believe.

You are mistaken.

It has been proven, with DNA analysis, that over 8100 Bosniak individuals were in various mass-graves around Srebrenica

Read the ICMP report.

This has taken 10 years to prove, as it takes a lot longer to analyze the bones of 8100 people than it takes to say "it didn't happen"

If he was fit to order all those killings and hide like a mouse (yeah, a real hero) he must be fit to stand the trials. This is an old tactic used by various psychopathic leaders. I hope the tribunal will not fall for it.

Hopefully, Boris Tadic will not release Mladic to the Hague!

Serbia will never be able to join the EU with or without Mladic.

It's not too late to do the right thing and let Mladic live out the rest of his life in Serbia. Otherwise, the western countries will fabricate witnesses and stories so that they can justify the illegal bombing of Serbia back in 1999.

It was the US that stated and printed the story of 8,000 bosnian muslims were killed, when in reality it has been proven that only 2,000 bosnian muslims died in battle against the Bosnian Serb army.
