Valid point, why did not police let hooligans pass through to wherever they wanted to go to throw stones and burn stuff. Police should have offered them some coffee and cookies too, they were peaceful hooligans after all.

No coffee and cookies needed, they should have just isolated them and not push them back to where the peaceful protesters were, however, I'm sure they had some coffee and cookies when they went to collect their pay from Dacic.

And of course we believe him, because it's not like the Radicals have ever lied before, is it?

Normally if someone lies in politics like this we tend to get a rebuttal fairly quickly. Dacic has been quiet since so why dismiss it outright? Denial is common when you hear something you don't like, right?

How should police protect the demonstrators when the rioters are part of the protesters themselves, or they join them and hide between them?
(Top, 30 May 2011 14:48)

Maybe you should read the article first before asking silly questions. How should police protect the demonstrators? Simple, by not pushing the rent-a-hooligans back into the crowd. By isolating them and dealing with them separately and allowing the remaining protesters to do so peacefully, as organised.

This is was the article stated:
--
The party, Todorović continued, took all measures to make sure the rally went in line with the law, but "young men wearing hoods and scarves on their faces baited and attacked police".

He said police then, instead of letting them pass through, pushed them back among those gathered for the protest.

"It is the government and police's responsibility to provide adequate security during protests so people can freely express themselves within the law. If they can't do that then they have failed in their duty. "
(Zoran, 30 May 2011 12:15)

Isn't it more like the police should ensure a peaceful demonstration, which includes to protect the people who use their right to protest peacefully against violence from OUTSIDE, i.e. opposing groups? How should police protect the demonstrators when the rioters are part of the protesters themselves, or they join them and hide between them? And sorry, nobody can tell me that the SRS couldn't expect that the usual nationalistic hooligans (which are their brothers-in-mind) would join? How naive!

Serbian Radical Party is a mercenary group of the Democratic Party. All the Democratic Party can not do in public, they pay for SRS to do it for them. They present themselves as an opposition party, but they are in deep cooperation with the ruling party. Because of his leadership and such determinations, they have lost any support from the people.

you do nothing to prevent these people from joining your rallies over and over again, and then blame the media and police instead of doing something about it to prevent it, no one on the outside is going to have any sympathy.

Wow, here we have someone wanting to prevent people from their right to protest. So much for democracy when people can't protest.

It is the government and police's responsibility to provide adequate security during protests so people can freely express themselves within the law. If they can't do that then they have failed in their duty.

So what now, do we expect protest organisers to know who the troublemakers are or should we just ban anyone wearing a hood? Maybe we should force the government to stop paying these rent-a-hooligans?

A great success despite the violence bc 3X the number of reported protesters actually showed up and bc all of Serbdom is against the extradition. Compare this with the couple of thousand Croats who demonstrated for those 3 Ustase and its obvious that we are 13 times more nationalist than the Croats. We wont allow Western Liberal extremist ideologues to write our history and we wont let a corrupt govt lead us into unjustified ethnic self-hate like Corrupt Souless Westerners did after WW2.

Interesting how the SRS continues to refuse to take the blame for anything. When your rally leads to masked men wanting to burn the city every time and you do nothing to prevent these people from joining your rallies over and over again, and then blame the media and police instead of doing something about it to prevent it, no one on the outside is going to have any sympathy.

This pattern keeps repeating and the government is responsible. You'd think the police would have learnt how to control the rent-a-hooligan by now and instead of isolating these people they push them towards protesters. It is fairly obvious that the government intended this to happen and Dacic is fully responsible.

Interesting how B92 has not reported on the number of protesters and instead focuses on violence and extreme-right groups. That is also another repeating pattern.
