Expect a humiliating compromise where you get less than the "more than autonomy..." originally on offer.
(The Brit, 25 May 2011 12:54)

Ha, ha, ha.... Yeah if you can define what "more than autonomy..." means ?

-- What a circus clown!Who is he talking to? Why is he wasting the time of K-Albanians with these talks? This is so shameful, he has been bragging about the progress achieved and the deals made in the past days, and now he says we are not signing anything! This can tell what kind of politicians rule Serbia today and how one can reach a "compromise" with them. Don't get me wrong this is a great news. No one had hoped for anything to be solved by these talks, on the contrary this clown has confirmed once again how useless is to talk to any Serb politician in power today and how shallow their commitment is to anything. I have to praise Mrs. Tahiri who apparently gave him hell. I guess this will be the end of the talks after all, I mean what's the point? This is also the end of Serbia's hopes for having an easy ride to EU. Alternatively, Tadic is being told bluntly that Serbia cannot make it into EU either way, so he figured it's time to declare the experiment of technical talks a f8ailure after all.Good luck Serbia being stuck at the doors of EU for as long as Kosova will be stuck too. Serbia and Kosova will be the last two loser who will join EU. (miri)--

I really agree with miri, KU, and most of the comments here -- serbian (mainstream) politicians do not give a damn about the people, only about themselves and their careers. it is always, "let them eat nationalism", a modern balkan version of the alleged marie antoinette afterthought.

Stefanovic is a hard-core nationalist, and that was WHY he was sent to these "negotiations." but of course under orders from the so-called top. they figured they'd meet the basic euro requirements: yeah, yeah, we tried, we sat down with them at the same table! but you know those alb irredentists... (is that like irritated dentists?) so now hurry up and reward us, and make us EU candidates!

well, the eu is pretty ethically challenged, but even they are not total idiots. at some point, they spot the same ole pattern that the blgd regime is famous for. this one, and the last one... so sad. and still mladic remains hiding, in plain sight.

oh, by the way, my dear comrades at b-92, "albo" is an ethnic slur. i bet you never realized that until now. and yes, i notice that almost all of my ethnic albanian colleagues don't even bother to point it out. they're so over it. well maybe it seems natural, and will stay that way as long as the press and other institutions condone these racist practices. day, after week, after year.

never too late to grow a conscience.

Serbian politicians DO NOT WANT to improve the lives of the people.
(KU, 25 May 2011 20:15)

Look at this little Albanian and how he is angry about Serbs not wanting to improve the lives of your Albanian people...
Ohhh,cry me a river!

What did you think:
That we will forget about 200.000 Serbs from Kosovo who cannot go back to their homes AND will reward Albanians for their ethnic cleansing with freedom of movement inside Serbia?
My dear friend, the time when you could count on Serbia`s naivity to achieve your fascist goals is over, from now on even this leftist DS government will not budge one centimetre in this fight:
No freedom of movement and no free trade for Albanians, they are not citizens of Serbia in my view, they are fifth columnists .

what to believe

pre 12 godina

You remember after the first meeting and everyone said nothing was accomplished but formalities of how the meetings would go and a little introduction of the 2 groups. Then daily he would report to the media on the progress that was taking place, eventhough they had not met anymore.
Now he says that everything happens in Brussels so there is no chance of reaching an agreement before Ashton's visit.

I wonder which it is? Do Serb's really believe what their politicians say? At least in developed nations when the political elite are untruthful they stick with it more than 24 hours. In Serbia the same person will say exactly the opposite in the afternoon than what they said in the morning.

No surprises there. The talk from Serbian politicians about compromises is just bs. Their strategy is to delay any solutions. Say now that they agree to something and then retract it in a month's time. It will be easy with no signatures. The "upholders of international law" want to reach verbal agreements, like some smugglers in dark alleys. I wonder if he signs when he deposits money in the bank or when he buys a car or starts a contract for electricity. He must sign for all those agreements, I am sure people sign their contracts in Serbia.
Dacic too must not be taken seriously. All the talk about partition is just noise. If Serbia cannot sign any agreements on these small matters to improve the lives of the people, imagine how possible it will be to sign an agreement on partition. Serbian politicians DO NOT WANT to improve the lives of the people.

“All our agreements will be implemented by the two governments and monitored by the EU. We will inform the public if any agreement is reached,” he added.

If is implmented by two governments(Kosova&Serbia), and monitored by third party, than if is a duck walks like a duck and looks like a duck, it must be a DUCK.

“No agreement will be signed since that is not envisaged by the form of the talks, and what is more all talks are being held in Brussels,” Stefanović said

The cracking is starting....I have said in the past several times that serious talks between Kosovo and Serbia should take place after Serbia has recognised Kosovo independence.

The Brit

Interesting definition of "cracking" you're using there. Doesn't matter how you try to dress it up, the Albo push for independence is running out of steam and time is on Serbia's side. Expect a humiliating compromise where you get less than the "more than autonomy..." originally on offer.
