Danilo you are right. Menjacnicas are actually a very good business for all sorts of reasons. Low costs and overheads and by speculating its possible to make a fair amount of money.

I know an owner of one and he is absolutely loaded.

Oh and the opportunities for illegal activities as you say are unbound.

Same for menjacinicas. Those people make about 1-2% a transaction and have to carry a huge float. You'd have to change at least 10k euros a day to break even. There's one on every street.

"Good god, I always thought that serbia is free of any crime, and that is according to serb camp poster on this site.
One thing I notice , that all those cops and police cars are really conducting raids and arrest in their own country. Having said that, it shows that Kosova is another country and not integral part of Serbia as some would like to dream every day."

No, Serbia is infected with a lot of mafia groups. Nobody denies it. But in your last sentence, you got it: In Serbia, the police is trying hard to fight crime, while in some southern province (UN1244) the KPS doesn't do it, because the highest officials are connected to the criminal groups and the police officers often are former KLA criminals, too. That's why some high-ranking western officials call Kosovo a 'mafia state on European ground'.

This comes as no suprise. The number of these supposed betting shops in Serbia far exceeds any chance of profitability without 'backroom' activities.

Really don't understand this claim that people from Serbia claim there is no crime. In fact everybody in Serbia knows there is corruption and connected crime and that there is too much of it.
