Well it could of c course be a honey trap but given his history and the time of the day, i don´t think so. The "opportunity" showed up just before his departure and he took it, didn´t require much elaboration on his part...

@Leonidas: Perhaps there shall be a proper investigation to be conducted by the "popos"(American or African-American nickname or slang term for the police.)
Although DSK's past indiscretions are not doing him any favours i still find the story, as reported by the international press, hard to believe.The story is too unlikely (why did the maid go in with the client still in the shower room)? Then did DSK loose it when he saw the maid while exiting the shower with no cloths? Was DSK trying to remove the maid's underwear when she "escaped'? If he did it does mean the maid was running down the hallway with almost no clothes?
The fact is that DSK has a great many enemies, ranging from assorted financial and banking mafia, the sitting French President, and probably a few people in the US goverment.I am not a fan of the IMF and its deliberations around the world but i think DSK made some positive noises with regard to the replacement of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency and also tighter regulation on the international bankers.
