Tadić says there's no alternative to EU

This sounds more like an ultimatum than an invitation.

The question is: Would Germany allow Serbia to remain outside the EU?

It's a shame that Tadic believes that the Serbian people aren't capable or intelligent enough to solve their own problems, but that they must rely upon a failing EU for Serbia's future. What sense does that make....grabbing onto a sinking ship (EU) with such enormous sovereign debt problems. The "solvent" EU countries are not going to create jobs for Serbia, when they have to bailout Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and possibly others....nor do they want to accept any more "weaker economic" countries such as Serbia- this is fact! So, could it be that Tadic is simply pleasing his EU "masters" who wish to subjugate Serbia, and to pose it as "there is no alternative for Serbia". Yes there is an alternative- new elections with viable candidates who put SERBIA FIRST, not the EU!!!

"No alternative" = Tadic's lack of imagination and courage. There is always an alternative. He has got the words 'cooperation' and 'diktat' confused too.

How about doing business with China and India separately? There are many alternatives to the eu, but tadic has been paid by the eu to keep the Serbs in line. For every traitorous president, there are millions of simpletons who vote him in. Why don't you think about that?

It's a shame that they're not. One could debate why. Personally, I have my own thoughts as to "why", but it really doesn't matter. Serbian society is so messed up that it does need some sort of external blue-print. Eu assendancy is as good a road-map as Serbia is going to get to fix itself.

The EU may have its problems but politically its the only game in town. Why shouldn't Serbia be a part of the European family. Acting together Europe will prove much stronger in the face of a strong China and India. Who will care about all of us separately.

Infortunately there does not seem to be any politicians out there of this type. Maybe there is but they wont get elected.
I would love to think Serbia could do it alone but no-one in power has any motivation to.
The EU will force Serbia to modernise its laws, all the Serbian politicians do is make vague promises about things being fixed sometime maybe in the future
If we do join the EU, then maybe things will change, maybe my wife will not get sacked for being pregnant.
Maybe my near neighbour can get electricity into his new legal house instead of the other neighbour who built 12 illegal apartments and got his friend in the EPS to hook him up (despite the fact that we have power cuts every summer and winter because there is not enough power being produced for these new homes whther illegal or legal).
Maybe I can import from another country without the price being doubled by taxes. With the removal of many import duties in accordance with new EU-Serbia agreements this/last year,
Serbia has formed new government agencies which you must pay fees to instead and these fees are being backdated because the couldn't do it in time)

Look to him how he is instrumenting and waving his arms...

He must get out of office,as soon as possible!

THAT is exactly THE POINT why I want a WEAK Europe as much as possible ,because it backstabs Serbian interests,and a MUCH STRONGER RUSSIA AND CHINA who can intimidate the EU to support Serbia`s interests!

Why should I as a Serb be interested that the Germans,Britons and French who were ALWAYS hostile to Serbian national interests get more leverage over the rising nations China and Russia by uniting and surpressing whole Europe and its resources in their cause?
Just think about it!

In that case there is no alternative to arresting and extraditing the genocidal war criminal Ratko Mladic whom the Serbian state has harbored and protected for nearly two decades. Tadic needs to get serious about his political career and deliver Mladic in the next few months or else there won't be an alternative to him going into involuntary retirement.

There alternative to the EU is prosperity and sovereignty. Tadic is likely saying these things to keep his sponsors in Bruxelles happy, I don't think he cares so much to be a EU member. NATO is a no-go aswell, but likes to tell the americans what they want to hear: "maybe". They want to turn Serbia into Bulgaria..they are in NATO & EU...you see them sign the joy of being in the EU, are they're roads paved with gold? The EU is nothing but a poison pill with a candy flavor.

You are speaking of Croatia who is bancrupt and needs EU money to avoid insolvency.
Serbia has currently a weak economy but it has one big plus:
It is not nearly as indebted as Croatia and still has assets(Telekom,EPS) while Croatia already sold them (to Germans and Austrians)off and turned into a German colony!

I know someone in London who was sacked for being pregnant. Since she started her job, she had nothing but positive yearly evaluations. Then she told them she was pregnant. Lo and behold, her next evaluation was negative and she was 'let go'. She worked for an organization that is expressly set up to protect...workers rights. So you see, the EU provides nothing, only national governments and proper implementation of EU law counts!

It's a shame that they're not. One could debate why. Personally, I have my own thoughts as to "why", but it really doesn't matter. Serbian society is so messed up that it does need some sort of external blue-print. Eu assendancy is as good a road-map as Serbia is going to get to fix itself.
