Well SJ after reading your response I agree with your indication that Gadaffi is a tyrant and it ain't surprising that it's not really considered pragmatic to negotiate with a tyrant.

Does anyone out there have a suggestion on how the Libyan public should take down Gadaffi? I respectfully request someone to provide a civil response as opposed to an impolite or condescending reply. Much appreciated, so thank you to whomever it may concern.

The Libyans do not have any traditions of western style democracy except for tribal justice where complaints are brought before the head man and he then gives out the punishment. Libya’s leaders are not elected but born into the position or if you’re the strongest then you’re the head man.
This type of “government” may appear to be a dictatorship to you and me but it has worked for hundreds of years. The only way to remove a leader like Gaddafi is to try and use force of arms and he will use the same to resist. There is no easy answer to your question because it all leads to bloodshed.
I would not have any complaints if the west was really trying to save the people, but this is blatant opportunism trying to take advantage of the “Arab spring” to remove Gaddafi and now they have bogged themselves down in a horrible stalemate. The west wants to control Libya’s oil and Gaddafi is a nationalist who will not allow that to happen (in fact there were rumors that he was going to nationalize all foreign oil holdings in Libya prior to this war).

Obama should be examined by a team of psychiatrists.

The headline says it all. The emperor truly has no clothes. A pity that his bosses didn't think of a political solution before starting the bombing. They never learn.

More spin from a poor spin doctor. Rasmussen says Gadaffi is spent and isolated and he will give up soon and the west has stopped him in his tracks blah, blah, blah and so it goes relentlessly. NATO has done absolutely nothing, but kill civilians and that is a fact now coming out from Libya.
Gaddafi can but will NOT ENTER Benghazi or the other rebel held cities because the west would go into over drive with “genocide and mass murder” so he just intends to wear them down and time is on his hands as he is well aware that the western windbags have bitten off more than they can chew and he knows that air power is the only assistance NATO can give to the opposition and airpower will not win the day. Gaddafi knows that the west cannot afford to send in land forces because of the cost involved so they are now talking of “political solution”. I don’t recall that term being mentioned at the start of this air campaign but as they see now end the west is looking elsewhere for solutions. Gaddafi knows he has the west where he wants them.
I have often said that the western military incompetence has now become legendary and if I was the US President I’d dismiss all above the rank of full colonel and start from there because the US military structure is toxic to say the least. This is what happens when you allow political appointments to take hold in the military – the most useless drones float to the top. Whoever convinced Obama to start this Libya business should be lined up against the wall and shot and Obama should be examined by a team of psychiatrists.
