It sums it up beautifully. That is exactly what is happening and the Izzy report is not going to be adopted because Russia and China have already indicated they will vote against it. So Izzy has to go back with his tail between his legs and make a few more hollow threats and then a miracle will occur where things have all been worked out and we are all friends again.
Brilliantly outmaneuvered again by a capable Serb – it looks like one Serb is worth a thousand of those US/EU bureaucrats. No wonder why they are rushing Serbia’s EU application through.

Now that's leverage! It's why there's no need for seperation: the threat of it is enough to get us as all concessions including re-integration with Serbia eventually if we work slowly & surely.

I don't like this type of attitude of trading principles because it implies that the principle itself is nothing more than a game.

At the same time if this 'game' has to be played I'd much prefer it if Dodik was somehow to secure more investment / employment for the population, rather than to satisfy some nationalistic sentiment.

What happened to brave Dodik? Why compromise? Serb heroes don't compromise! No, there must be a referendum and there is no backing down! We need to scrap Dayton and bring in a new constituion based on Bosnian national sovereignty that meets all EU standards so that Bosnia can finally become a funtioning state that meets the needs of its citizens and can join NATO and the EU. It would be best if Dodik did the honors of finally burrying the Dayton Accords and himself in the process.

As you seem to be a politically naïve I’ll explain. Izzy and company have painted themselves in a corner and need a way out so Dodik the Great is offering it to them a way out and if they don’t accept well that’s their bad luck. Its called political manouvering.

The real reason for all of this is the prosecution of Bosnian war criminals who committed crimes against the Serbs. You see your mates are not keen at all in doing this because they saw what happen to the Croats – one minute they were the victims of Milosevic’s war campaigns then the next they were named as murders.

I hate to spring this on you but Bosnia will NEVER be a functioning state. The Serbs will continue like this until it falls apart. There is no NATO for Bosnia and Dayton is the only thing keeping that state together.

I guess Dodik can't back his talk with action. RS will "postpone" the referrendum. If Dodik pulls the vote, he will have lost all credibility and will prove the OHR has all of the power.
