The RS financially sound? You must be kidding. The RS is on the verge of financial collapse, why else do you think they are trying to get loans from commercial banks, yes commercial banks, simply to be able to continue to pay pensions? I'm not saying that the economic situation is any better in the Federation, but the RS is anything but financially sound these days.

Talk about corruption, embezzlement, misappropriation then you’re talking about the Bosnian Federation. It is bankrupt because it politicians are stealing by the truck load while RS is financially sound and that’s even with RS receiving less money that the rest of Bosnia from the EU. If that is corruption and embezzlement on Dodik’s part well I’ll have more of that than the Bosnian style of management.

So effective mass theft authorized by Brussels for something that does not breach any laws or is in any sense illegal is the depths Brussels and its balkans lickspittle are willing to descend to? The joke is on Brussels. Morons.

Like all cowards that secretly admire Serbs for their stance and courage, you come out with NATO “bent you to their will” but who did your people stand against without holding onto mother’s apron? Just sit and admire us and you just might learn a thing or two about courage.

Dodik is slowly placing the noose around his head and preparing to jump. No politician in this world is irreplaceable and Dodik can easily be removed from power to be replaced by others. We all remember the Serbs stating that they would rather "eat grass" then remove Milosevic and turn their back on Kosovo. As it turns out it took considerably less pressure then that from NATO to finally turn them against their "holy" leader. The point is that the support that Dodik enjoys is very limited and once the sanctions are placed on him he'll be a lame fish in an ocean of predators waiting to take his spot. The second he is removed from power there will be a dozen lawsuits filed against him and his family for corruption, embezzlement, misappropriation, genocide denial, etc. Mr. Dodik is going away for a long time once he takes his final plunge.

Why stop voting? At the time of the Arab Spring, where the vote of many is encouraged, how could one stop the voting of a region? Who stopped Kosovo for voting for independance? Who stopped Quebec for voting for independence?

Is this a country or a playpen for Europe?

And, all this nonsense about 'Russia will not stand for this and Russia will not stand for that' is very amuzing to me.
Russia will do what is best for Russia. If that means throwing RS and/or Serbia under the bus then Russia will do so.

Kosovo did and does not have the right to succeed. But it declared independence and most of the West accepted it. Why these double standards?

1244 is still valid. Meaning Kosovo still is a Serbian province ruled by UN.

Why the West wants to ignore 1244. But thinks Dayton is sacrosanct?

By the way: this referendum is not against Dayton. The Serbs do not want to have less power then Dayton promised them. So maybe the West should stop pushing Bosnia towards a unified state. As that was not the deal back in the 90s.

And for the rest: please learn to live in peace.

One more thing: even Scotland can have a referendum on independence. So why not RS and Croats in Bosnia? And yes: Kosovo.
It is time for an all out deal in my opinion!

Austro-Hungarian empire has not existing for a long time but the black and yellow spirit, expressed in the pathological hate towards Serbs which Inzko and his bosses openly show is visible and cannot be logically explained. I keep my fingers crossed that Serbis in the Republic of Srpska stay united and persistent in their efforts to defend their democratic right to carry out the referendum.

Enough with these foreign dictators like Inzko. I say go back to where you came from, which is the home of Hitler, and leave Serbs alone!
We have Russia firmly behind us, and that is all we need.

--Inzko pointed out that Head of the European External Action Service (EEAS) for Russia, Eastern Neighborhood and the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajčak during his visit to Banja Luka had told RS President Milorad Dodik that Europe did not want to treat him as Alexander Lukashenko, but that it would if the RS authorities decided to hold the referendum after all.--

Well, that's perfect; do-dik as the new lukashenko. actually not so new. they are both 2 bit, nasty, corrupt demagogues and fascists. whose power is shored up by mother russia, specifically put-in.

the problem is not about what to do now. the problem is what should have been done years ago, with both do-dik and lukashenko. isolate them from the "civilized" world until they are forced to respect human rights and and real international law and order, not whatever they decide in their desperate need to keep power AT ALL COSTS.

when you allow such men to continue their evil ways, unabated, you facilitate that evil, as some of us have "reminded" so very many times.

of course do-dik is not on his own, but works in direct conjunction with the pro-democratic-pro-western regime in belgrade. or so the bbc keeps reassuring us. the problem is, just by repeating it again and again, it doesn't necessarily make it true.

i really don't care what louise arbor or anyone else says or does not say. inzko has GOT to stand up to fascism -- this could be our last chance. NO compromise with the fascists, with do-dik and his crowd. and yes, we are supported on this by the great sonia biserko, who knows of these matters, inside and out. way back in 2008, when kosova finally declared official independence from belgrade, sonia wrote "Bosnia is the real target for the proponents of Greater Serbia." (check the files)
hunh? asked everyone, what the heck is she talking about? as usual, she was spot-on.

in any event, inzko MUST stay firm on his position. enough is enough! no more giving in to fascism. no more war and ethnic cleansing in the balkans. the intl's must remain vigorous on this point, or risk very bad days ahead.

Haven't we seen this before? Bosnia & Herzegovia is like a mini Yugoslavia made up of ethnic groups which dislike each other and where one wants to dominate the rest.
It didn't work out very well for Serbs when they wanted to extend their 'empire' to Tokyo.
If the Serbs in RS continue it won't work out very well for them either.
I think Dodik will wise up, wag his tail between his legs and let it go.
He just needs someone to throw him a bone.

It is all bluff from Inzko and it is clear that Russia will stand behind RS and that the so-called internatioanl community is not going to risk a confrontation. I wonder whether or not the EU will recognize an independent Scotland when the Scotts within five years will chose independence from the UK. To be continued.
